That's the reason I refuse to get any other cloaks through the quest. Can't even remember how many weeks I'd get no more than one drop.

so i am back in the game after being away for awhile. Last time i played for any length of time was after BC came out. I did try again when Panda released but did not last too long.

As for this time around. I am 2 boxing a priest and warrior. Both boxes up to date with the last expansion. Even did the pre-order for both for new upcoming expansion. I did get the free level to 90 but not using for now as i want to experience the game again.

With that said. my questions are as follows. Maybe i am missing something or there is an addon for it but.. I have targets target selected in settings but it does not work as i was expecting. When my tank is fighting. i have to keep switching btwn targets to heal or damage. What i want to happen is the tank targets mob. i target tank and then if i cast a heal it lands on tank and if i damage it hits mob.

I have had my tank die once because i cast heal but it landed on the(my target) targeted mob instead of the tank.

It works this way in EQ and EQ2. so hoping there is something i have missed in my new found noobness. I tried looking for a mod (addon) but have not found anything yet.

yea people were complaining about it last time they had the buff as well that they only got the 2 guaranteed ones. I got 4 from the first wing of SOO this week and got my cloak last night on my alt

+15% of .01 drop rate still blows.

assuming you are on your healer, when DPSing your target is the mob and your targets target will be your tank.

if you target your tank to heal he is your target and your targets target is most likely the tank as well as thats who he is hitting

thats how its always worked IIRC, your gonna have to switch targets to DPS and Heal

What about using a macro, like:
If Target Not Friendly, Heal Target's Target

Replace "Flash Heal" with your heal spell.
Using <alt> key modifies the spell to cast on self.
Use: When your current target is unfriendly, the spell will be redirected to their target if it is friendly and alive.

im not sure this actually works anymore, and i never heal but can you set your tank to your "focus target" and use a heal focus macro? with a target last target ending that way you could just hit it and it would cast the heal on your tank (focus) and then go back to targeting the mob you want to DPS


assuming heal focus is still doable they have changed what you can do with macros since i really thought about this

11/20 on secrets and started it today. Right around 10k on my way to exalted. I am hoping to finish it up mid week and get my 2nd cloak.

I'm pretty sure most healers who dps focus the boss and heal through mouseovers on the frames. You just set a /focus in the front of your offensive spells then cast @focus.

If you need to reset your focus, target the new mob and dps him once. After that all dps abilities will hit him regardless of your target.

Something like this:
/focus [target=focus,exists,harm,nodead]
/cast [target=focustarget] abilitybyname

blue had a twitter exchange where they basically admitted the new world faction hubs were relegated to the pvp area because creating the original planned on continent hubs would have resulted in even more delays with release.

From what I have seen, they will be away from the actual PvP area so players wont be forced into pvp just to go to the cities.

They'll be on a permanent no fly area discounted from the main continent just like the 2 isle with MoP were. There will be an enhanced guard presence given that it is a full faction hub, but otherwise it will be just like flying into the MoP ones with addition of bank, AH, portal access etc... With the caveat that for the pve realm whiners you can't get flagged by being in the hub till you cross out into the pvp field.


I mainly found the discussion interesting in blizz discussing just how far "delayed" they are.

so far having fun playing again. Tho i did restart 3 times in the last few weeks. First time i was on a new normal server. Was a panda monk but found i was not having fun with the monk and 2 it got annoying with so many noobs in the starter areas.

Then i had the idea to two box so...restarted with priest and warrior. But in my noobness it took me 10 levels to realize ... i wanted to play on Alliance...Was playing and saw some...area i was in under attack messages. With chat saying it was some alliance attacking....wut? wait a sec.....logged out to see.. doh! i started 2 Blood elves...

so now back to drawing board. this time on a new older server and on 2 Nightelves, with hopefully less crowded noob zones.

The only thing that is bugging me about the game. I started on a RP server to hopefully get away from it. What is it with so many players wanting to duel? Some spam to the point of harassment. And usually they are a few levels above you. One after repeated spam duels on both characters says "c'mon for the challenge" ...so i think..if you want a challenge why arent you flagging players 3 levels above you to duel?

I do not want to duel, do not want to pvp. . i am pve only on a new RP server. Game settings have s tick box to stop ninja guild invite spam. Wish they would add an option to not duel. I tried an addon to stop duels but since it is out of date it does not work. I checked the allow out of date addons and thot it was working. I see the add on in game but got more duel spam last night...grrrr.

anyone know of a way to block these duel requests?

Yes, these work.

It's easier to just focus your tank and use macros that heal your @focus and dps away on your @target.

/use [@mouseover, help, nodead][@focus, help, nodead][] Ability;

Gives priority to a mouseover, then your focus, then acts as normal cast. Way more useful this way.

Yeah, that's much more elegant. It's been a long time since I healed, I just know my healers use focus+macros. It's likely they are doing it this way.

Yeah cruised by the forums ealier and not many happy people. Guess the other games came back but had performance issues. WoW was delayed, and still had performance issues when it went back up.
