personally...

MC - trivial but time-consuming
BWL - can't solo Razorgore
AQ20 - trivial
AQ40 - can't solo past Twin Emps (and some side bosses gave me difficulty)
KZ - trivial except chess
Magtheridon - trivial
Gruul's - trivial
TK - trivial-ish (Kael doesn't sound difficult, but more involved than "do dps until things die")

and that's the extent of my solo raid experience as a shaman... never tried SSC since there's zero gear in there I want.

tons of stuff in BT I want, but the first boss seems like a tough solo and I've heard that Reliquary is still impossible due to fight mechanics (like Twin Emps and Razoregore)

MC only takes me 20min.

Sure... I my just run while serpent spin kicking everything... :p

Chess isn't bad, there is an important factor when it comes to chess.

1. Once you move a piece, it will attack on its own. So get them in position.
2. Medivh cheats, and a pretty regular pace, be in the king right before he does so you can move him off fire squares (he always puts fire under king)
3. Once king is outta fire, get in other pieces and move them out
4. Again move as many pieces as possible into position, and then use those that are positioned to do the most damage.

Sure my win rate isn't 100% but I solo it enough. Sometimes a buddy comes along and we 2 man it. Makes life much easier on chess.

Also in 5.1 with allowing all raids from vanilla to cata not requireing a raid group, they will be messing with the fights so that they do not require more than 1 person either. mechanics wise

5.1 is putting pets on several old-world raid bosses, and some fights are getting their mechanics nerfed to make them easier to solo... specifically Razorgore and Najentus.

haven't heard anything about Twin Emps or RoS, though :( other than tier gear, all I really want is a Bullwark off Illidan for my shaman.

Why bulwark? I think the best looking shield is the Corrupted Carapace that drops from the Hour of Twilight.

Also joined a pug and we managed to get the first boss down. Bonus roll gave me 496 chest, woot. As of this point, I'm going to try to save valor in preparation for the gear upgrades. They're expensive! Going to try for exalted with Golden Lotus and Kalaxxi to get the neck and ring.

I just think Bullwark looks badass :)

the transmog set I'm actually working towards, though, is shaman tier 4, titansteel shield wall, and aurastone hammer... silver/blue.

edit: no helm, though... I've already got the blue goggles from Flame Leviathan; they look badass on a panda. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/proudmoore/Bioshocked/advanced

I am trying to get illidan's headband, because lets be honest.

A monk, with a blindfold over his eyes?

Just makes so much sense.

If you have a 489+ weapon, when 5.1 comes out valor should be used to upgrade your weapon.

However, for individual gear, it is a bigger jump to buy other valor upgrades before upgrading. (as valor upgrade = 4/8 ilevels. When a piece upgrade say from LFR 476 -> 489 is 13 ilevels.)

Is there anywhere to look up old gear? I want to build a neon green set for my DK to match a sword I found and have no idea how to go about it.

slow page loads cause of all the graphics i guess, but this shows all the gear models and you can search by color, tier, armor type, etc:

http://www.worldofwardrobes.net/

also can search stuff here:

http://www.icy-veins.com/transmogrification-wow

there are others, i'm sure, but these are the ones i check most besides wowhead.com

true, and it even has a transmog section. i actually just noticed that it has the ability to search by color. i'll probably just use that since im usually on it already for quests and other info.

I started to take on Hyjal last night...

wiped once on Rage (pro tip: his death and decay has a muuuuuuuuch larger area than the graphic displays), but Anetheron was pretty basic.

skipped the last 3 bosses because it was getting late (and I remember the trash waves around the Horde base being a pain in the ass)

in-game, I use the addon MogIt

outside of the game, icy-veins.

Trash isn't that bad after 2nd boss unless your melee, as some of the trash is flying/range mobs.

Somebody's moved in on my cash-crop (hah, literally) market. Had been selling a few things requiring minimal time commitment for a fair amount of gold:

Mote of harmony plants --> Spirits --> 3x Golden Lotus -- 110-115g each, farming on 1 character to sell (5 minutes). Had been selling for 110-115g each almost immediately, have 6-8 lotus that I can't dump for over 100 because two new players have entered with large quantities and undercuts every 15 mins or so. Last I looked, they were down to 80g/ea. Been saving up spirits on my tailor (extra imperial silk) and blacksmith (463 weapons or 476 BoE chest/gloves), though I haven't been able to sell anything on the blacksmith yet.

100 Year Soy Sauce (~5 min -- Ironpaw Token Daily) -- 250-275g each, I've been doing it to sell on 3 characters, to keep on 1. Had been only me + 1 other person listing 1 per day, they were always way higher. Sold 3/day for a couple weeks this way. Haven't been able to move them the last few days, and there's been more listed by more people, sometimes as low as 150g per. Figured it would happen eventually, but was hoping I could hold it for a while.

Living steel belt buckle: Guy has 30+ listed. Seriously. Lists 5 at a time, cancels/undercuts within an hour. Prices have gone from 600g to 375g, since last Thursday. Regular living steel still sells for 450. Unfortunately, I'm still sitting on 2 buckles from last week that I can't get rid of for a good price.

Tiger gourami: Dumped 8-10 stacks at 250g per 5 over the last week since they're used for the "To Be A Master" quest after 600 cooking in all schools. Someone else caught on, keeps undercutting me and now we're down to 150g/stack and I can't sell at that. Was nice while it lasted -- if you want to check it on your server, they're fished from the cave leading to Kunlai. Easy/quick to fish, should sell decently if someone else hasn't figured it out yet.

Flasks: Never been able to sell the intellect or strength ones very well. Spirits were doing okay at ~150g per, stam at 130g per, but the agility ones were 175g+ for a while. The last few I've gotten from the tank bags from heroics I've sold for only ~105g per. It's gotten to be a very saturated market, even on raid nights when there's lots of people buying them.

I'm still having good luck with flasks... I tend to list them for 48 hours on Monday night.

on my server at least, I feel like they sell a lot faster when I list them in stacks of 10/20 rather than selling them individually. guild banks maybe?

I haven't actually tried that, might be a good thing to do. I've been listing mine at ~5pm server Tues through Thurs and then Sundays. I've had the same 10 or so flasks I've been trying to get rid of for two weeks, finally down to 1-2.

EDIT: Also have been buying Alexandrite for less than 1g30s, mass cutting the pvp gems (effulgent, vivid), vendoring green quality ones to recup ~35g of every 50g, and selling perfects for 100g+. Last time I did it I spent 78g, got 55 or so from vendoring, and 8 perfect cuts. Problem is, mr belt buckle from above has the same idea and has the same undercutting strat with them. I'll probably stop after I get rid of what I have.

Bad luck in LFR today. Spent 5 tokens and killed all the bosses+sha. Only got one piece of loot, a shitty staff. Shaman don't wear staffs, and I have the mace from HOF already. SIGH.

I've noticed that gold has been getting expensive lately. Its harder to gain gold just by farming stuff now. I'm still able to sell my spirits for 1k each but everything else is going down in price.

That sucks, but at least you got something that would vendor for more than the 28.5g otherwise. Any chance you're an enchanter? At least it's 500g that way :(

I agree. I think it has a lot to do with the abundance of crafting materials. Nobody needs to buy anything anymore if they have an appropriate gathering profession. My first miner I took 85-90 was enough to level my blacksmith and engineer to 580+, two jewelcrafters to 600, and not only did I sell some ore on top of that, I also eventually started skipping nodes. My herbalist is currently 87, I have my alchemist at 600 from those herbs (bought higher level ones for 580+), but I've sold 20+ stacks of tea leaves and I have another 30 stacks of tea leaves / rain poppy in the bank. Previous expansions required motes/volatile fire and the like for crafting stuff. Now it's just 1 item available in abundance, and you can trade your spirits of harmony for whatever you need.

Don't even get me started on how cheap enchanting mats are so far in MoP. It's not even worth DEing any greens that vendor for more than 10g.

what do I need to know before transferring servers along with a faction change? Friends are horde on The Forgotten Coast server and I'm alliance on BDF. Is it $25 + $10? What about gold... bank stuff...? I would like to have all of my toons transferred but I'm not paying $25 each for it to happen, no way. Any reason not to put the majority of my gold over to the main toon before transferring over? Anything I'm not thinking of? Doubt I will be back, unless the new server sucks (like loses every BG, etc.).

prepare to lose any in-progress quest chains and have your reps screwed around.

I'm still annoyed at what happened with my shaman... I race changed from orc to panda. I purposefully farmed up to exalted with Org for the cheaper repairs, but that got switched around and I was suddenly neutral or friendly with Org.

^ wow losing rep in mists is so not cool. Was that just a bug or what?

I'm thinking of making my gnome rogue a pandaren or undead - both have pve benefits but only undead has the pvp benefit of Will of the Forsaken. It will make losing Escape Artist a bit easier.

EDIT>>> holy sh!t, $55 for this????

nah, the rep wasn't lost... I just went from being exalted with Org (yay, cheap repairs!) to exalted with Pandas (yay.... nothing!?)

before they nerfed tabbard rep gains in MoP dungeons, I was able to grind back to exalted easily enough.

just keep in mind there is a limit of how much gold your toon can have when you xfer:

LEVEL ... MAX. GOLD
10-30 ... 300g
31-50 ... 1,000g
51-70 ... 5,000g
71-80 ... 20,000g
81+ ... 50,000g

Yea, i spent 3 tokens. 1 on Sha, 1 on norm Feng, 1 on LFR (glove token boss. [wind lord]).

All gold. Got nothing in LFR either.

Luckily though through normal raid I got 2 dps offset pieces in MV, the healing mace in MV off of will of the emperor, the healing shoulders on 3 boss of MV, and then 1 more dps offset piece off a boss in normal HoF (Cant remember which one.)

So after actual raid I felt better, but damn my LFR and token luck sucks.
