What time are the servers going down tonight prior to launch?

Don't quote me, but I believe there is no downtime for this. I thought they had some new feature that can unlock the new areas without there being a downtime.

no downtime... in theory ;)

re: dailies -- given the XP nerf for old-content at 85, I'd be surprised if it was worth the travel time to turn in 25 dailies versus killing a couple mobs in Pandaria.

I believe that while there's no longer a daily quest limit, but there is still a limit of 25 quests in your log at any point.

regardless of what character anyone plans on leveling, if you've got multiple level 85's, I'd recommend logging in/out with them so you can start collecting rested XP

Nice just seen Blizzard said if you are waiting on a physical edition to come, you can buy a digital copy, then take a picture of your key and boxed copy email them and they will refund you the digital back and add your key.

This is more for people waiting on physical collector editions. So already bought a standard digital key and good to go now!

Supposedly there is already a level 89 druid named FS on EU-Ravencrest after only 3.5 hours of MoP being live. If true, that is nuts.

yeah wondering the same thing...i think the boost wouldnt be that significant, but could be worth it
I'm reading it's about 10% of the first level. Also probably worth it to make a couple of them the trade skill dailies in case they give +5 skill.

Even if I wasn't a mage, there are portals to most daily hubs. Park yourself in the molten front, it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

From previous thread:

Blackended said:
I told you my opinion. I don't play alts. I also concentrate on max level content, even though I haven't raided in years. I don't think everything should be given away - max level character progression taking some time, there is nothing wrong with that. This is my opinion...if you think otherwise , that's great. I won't talk smack about your opinion - I get it, some people prefer different things. Whatever. For the past few weeks all you've done is argue and show animosity, I don't think I like the new side of you. Whatever.

I wasn't even talking smack about your opinion, but if your opinion is that they give away max character gear, you're wrong. They introduced a new tier for casual people - Raid Finder. They now have 3 tiers of raid gear, Casual (i384), Normal (i397) and Heroic (i403). They'll continue this in Panda. If for a second you think someone farming i384 gear is going to stroll into Normal or even Heroic, you are thinking the wrong thing.

While I can admit Dragon Soul versus other raids is cake walk, heroic mode is still rather hard for the casual players and only the people investing at least 3 days @ 3hrs each day are really making progression. It wasn't until the nerfs that the Dragon Soul clear numbers soared, and that was for normal haha.

All in all, I personally don't mind how they are treating casuals. I think it gives them the "you can have your cake and eat it too" and on the higher end you still got the hard shit for the elite (heroic modes, and now challenge modes.)

I got no beef with anyone's opinion, just funny because I still see the same people I saw from day 1. Except during day 1 it was more along the lines of "this game will never be as hard as EQ." Or "EQ did this so much better." haha.

Fs is Athene from what I have read. He did mob tagging and hit 90 in four hours.

Method has a stream going and you can hit 87 in two hours from what they were doing it seems. They were using a five man to go into the first dungeon, killing a bunch in the first room and leaving then doing it again.

Hm. Should I start on my monk right away or start on getting to 86

I'm probably going to follow my WotLK path..

-main to max level
-max out trade skills
-gear up a little
-putz around on alts, make a DK (monk)

after chain running non-heroics, I finally hit exalted with Earthen Ring. figure that's going to be the one Cat faction farming rep with will really be a pain post-MoP, since the others all have dailies.

the way quest rewards now is a bit weird... it's customized for whatever your current spec is on quest turn-in.

so if it's a downgrade for your main spec, cancel out of the dialog, respec, and you should have a gear option available for your off-spec.

it was killing me on my shaman; I'm only leveling ele because my caster gear is better. I was hoping to get enhancement quest rewards and respec once I had a full set of MoP gear. annoyed that I didn't figure it out until like 5 vendored quest rewards later.

surprised at how stable the servers have been.

I play (I believe) on the 2nd highest pop PvE server (Proudmoore - US) and, while we had one brief "world server down" outage around 12:30 am PT, it's been otherwise stable and lag-free.

Not surprised about the servers, think this is the first time that a large portion of the playerbase is happy to just wait till they get home to play. I know that around here only 1 BB was doing a midnite open while normally its no less than 2.

I play on Illidan Horde which at last check is the most populous server. I kinda like that because it's easy to find pvp/arena partners (which is what I enjoy the most in WoW) but man...the lag is crazy. Good grief, there's 17 gabillion people on the server, not pretty. That said, the launch has been fairly smooth in comparison to prior expansions.

Is there a website that explains this further? My main is a warrior tank and I'll probably level as Fury / Arms and I'd rather collect more tank gear along the way than DPS gear.

You know you want to make a Human Monk named BroosRee, and run around screaming, "WAAAAAA CHAAAAA!"

i actually laughed really hard at this, hahaha. :D

for $30 ($45 if you want to count a month subscription), I anticipate that I'll at least get as much game time out of it as I would any other $30-$50 game.

pshhhhh....take your crazy logic somewhere else!! jk! ;)
makes sense, esp considering im paid through nov anyway.

...yes, i bought it. :colbert:

I think you just need to switch spec to Protection right before you turn in your quests, and the quest reward will show up as tank gear.

I passed out early last night but my internal clock knew I wanted to play and woke me up at around 3AM from whence I began questing. I'm on illidan as well as an above poster and the lag was insane. Also insane was the amount of people doing the same quest lines and fighting for mobs. Slowed my leveling process down quite a bit. It was fun though. This work day is gonna go by so slowly....gah.
