Any horde up for a court of stars/arcway run? I want to kick out my nightfallen quests for pathfinder but no one wants a 850 Ret. I get told I need 860+ for Mythic regular, despite the dungeon itself only awarding 840 loot.

They really need to unfubar the quest logs. Even though I have less than 25 quest, I can't accept new ones because the hidden quest crap has me locked out

I can't believe I logged in and subbed to this xpac. Hah haven't played in a long time. Trying to decide what character to boost to 100. Paladin is where I'm leaning right now but more than likely will end up playing a Demon Hunter just to have something I've never messed with before.

On the mount discussion, the coolest one I've ever had is the Violet Proto Drake. I'm assuming you can still get those but I do remember getting mine sucked. As I recall, the hardest part to completing it was the Orphan quest where you had to cap a flag in the different BGs with your Orphan out. I can see how that would be close to impossible for some classes but the good thing is it looks like they're account bound now.

Also, I'm not liking what I'm reading here regarding rep. Is the rep grind even worse than the old BC key (I think it was for Kara?) grind?

A demon hunter starts at 98 so no need to waste the 100 boost on that one :)

Oh certainly not. Sorry for not being more specific. Planning to join some friends on a new realm so will end up boosting a character to 100 and then creating a Demon Hunter.

It's not anywhere even close to the BC rep grinds. You can unlock the two extra dungeons in about 2-3 weeks time with light playing or about 1 week if you wanted to push it.

Not sure if you're aware, but they now have a "demo" mode where you can try any toon out at 100 for a certain period of time. When done (I think it's after a certain quest, but don't quote me), you have to use a 100 boost to keep the character. The 100 boost given for Legion expansion can be used for this too.

It is. Rep is basically a train wreck in Legion. Even TBC gave you rep for doing dungeons and killing bosses in relation to the faction you were trying to gain standing with. Now? Nothing. You do world quests now and where as TBC had dailies that gave 250 rep, world quests tend to give 50.

There aren't a ton of different world quests however, so you'll do the same ones repeatedly over and over again for months trying to get factions capped. The rewards are basically trash too because the 840 loot you get at exalted is likely to be made long obsolete by revered at the latest just doing world quests. Suramar is the biggest pain of them all, with quests giving no rep at all or if they do then maybe 50. Unfortunately, Loremaster is gated behind rep which is something Blizzard has never done before. I basically put up with it because I need pathfinder for flying. Outside of that however Rep is nothing but trash.

I find the rep to be OK. Some of it is harder (AKA longer) to obtain than others, but in general doing world quests can net you other things you need, such as Order Resources. So to me, at least I'm not just grinding for rep, I get 2 goals to achieve instead of one.

However, this isn't always the case. It isn't uncommon that the only 4 WQ to complete for the Emissary quest are already chosen. I.E there are only 4 you can complete which will award the Emissary quest, therefor removing any real choice in the matter.

Even the Emissary quests are fairly rewarding with either gold or order resources plus a small boost in Artifact Power, so I would want to do them without the Rep factor being considered... USUALLY. The Kirin Tor is the best of all worlds, with the reward also including 1500 rep toward any faction.

Could they make it a little better? Sure. But it's far from terrible IMO. This is probably largely based on your preference though... I'd much rather do WQ than to run dungeons all the time. From that perspective, it may be a bigger pain. But at the end of the day, you have choices in what you do. If everything is just a pain for you in WoW, it's probably best to finally let that subscription lapse.

Don't forget to abuse the Warden quests, if any pop. They give 250 rep for both Warden and whatever zone the quest is in. And it'll count for an emissary quest if in the same zone as well.

Ok, can any mage help me? I need to kill Auraiya in Ulduar without killing her cats that follow her, for an achievement. Being a fire mage, my spells manage to get a Dot - Ignite which also damages spawns around the primary target. Does a frost mage/arcane mage do aoe like that as well? What spells should I use to just get single target damage without the risk of an accidental burst killing off surrounding spawns?

Either frost or arcane should work just fine. Neither have the auto-cleave of fire, and the level difference is so great that just spamming your basic attack should be quick and easy. Just don't take unstable magic as a talent.

Anyone happen to have a link for the current view distance adjustment command.

FYI in case you haven't seen the info, it will be changing with 7.1.

Yes, was quite bad last night. Assuming its either related or remnants from all the attacks network wide recently.

Man only half way through the Suramar quest line and it definitely makes me not want to level an alt.
same here... not looking forward to having to find groups for the 2 mythic dungeon requirements either (I'm at the tail end of the "Blood and Wine" thread now).

tbh, I really hate the Suramar City area in general and all the random stealth/masquerade-detecting mobs all over the place.

the good news is that yeah, there's not a whole lot of reason for completing them on alts outside of fun and artifact power.

What's worse is all the stupid emissary and WQ start taking invisible slots in your quest log so I keep running out of room even though I have 3 or 4 slots open.
