regardless here in IL she would have lost it.

3 of those are seroius tickets.

but as others have said there is nothing you can do. i just know if it were my kids rideing with her i would be complaining to my lawyer and the judge.

I take back some of my insulting troll comments, because you had a baby born on my birthday July 21st... which makes you automatically somewhat cool.;)

An example of what I'm talking about... in DC we've got all these handy dandy speeding cameras set up wherever... and they're configured on nazi enforcement style... I.E. if you're driv ing 2MPH over the limit... you're getting a fine. I just got one myself for driving 49 in a 45 zone. If this were Illinois think of how easy it would be to rack up a quick 3 of these?...

FWIW, traffic cam tickets in CO don't carry any points.

yes this is true in DC as well, no points, just lots of $$. The problem remains though... enforcement in at the state's discretion and if everyone did a 3 tickets and your out law alot of pretty decent drivers would be screwed.

"How do I get a copy of someone else's driving record?

Due to the Privacy Law you as an individual cannot receive a copy of someone else's driving record without that persons written permission. If you are an employer or there is a court case pending you can read over our Requestor Release and Affidavit of Intended Use form (DR2489) to see if you meet any of the listed criteria to request the record. If you meet the criteria you can print the form fill it out and send it in with the fee which is $2.20 for a copy of the motor vehicle record or $2.70 to have it certified "

Doesn't say anything about construction or school zones in the points schedule I found.

I know the construction zone ticket was for about 15 over, and maybe the school zone also. So she's at at somewhere between 13 and 15 pts in 18 months. I don't recall the exact timing of the stuff, there's a chance she's over 12 pts in a year :(

The only thing wrong with that point schedule is that a 3 point ticket is 1-9mph over the limit, not 5-9. Cops can be assholes if they want to. Then again, you're not required to speed, either.

Nope, the schedule specifically says 5-9. < 5 MPH over = no points.

The person in question does not deserve a license.

You people are stupid. It all depend son the situation. I have had 5 speeding tickets in 5 years, and I speed like 90% of the time (10mph+). I have never been in a wreck or ran over anyone. If a cop has a speed trap set up, you are getting a ticket reguardless of how fast you are going.

Maybe she just has a string of bad luck.

I may be stupid, but I've never gotten a ticket (11 years)....asshat.

Just found out tonight that the latest ticket is for speeding in a school zone also. She didn't get an opportunity to just pay it off either ... has to show up in court on thursday.

So thats
Speeding in a school zone * 2
Speeding in a construction zone
Running a red light

So I was telling this story to a friend last night (whom my ex has never met), and they volunteered (unsolicited) to go sit in the courtroom and get the full scoop for me. I'm curious as to whether there was any other charge tacked on (reckless, etc.), and what happens. I'm sure I won't get an honest answer from her.

My first instict is MYOB ... but it's my kids riding with her, so it is my business, right?
