Race, hormones, and amount of body hair determine how much your pits will stink more than your diet. How many of you that don't need deodorant/antiperspirant are NOT asian?

I can get by without it as long as long as I'm not doing any real work and it's under 78 degrees or so, and I'm a white boy. I usually wear it most days just in case, though (but just deodorant). I was in 8th grade when I started needing it, so I was about 12-13.

I distinctly remember my 5th grade teacher telling us we all smelled bad and we need to have our parents buy us deodorant, so 10

Lol, that's awesome.

I think I started in 3rd or 4th grade, but I went through puberty pretty early, too.

That is hilarious. Hormones play a vital role (It is true, asians in general have less testosterone in their system, but I come from good stock 😉), but if you eat healthy, take care of yourself, and shower when you need to, you won't smell that bad. I shower at least once a day, if I work out and it is early, I will shower 2 times a day, but usually that is unneccessary.

Nonsense, unless "shower when you need to" means every 3 hours. Some people need deodorant and some don't. Some people can shower once a day and exercise daily and not need deodorant, others can shower twice a day and get stinky just sitting around watching TV (and I'm not talking about obese people, just normal people.)

My husband is like that. He only needs to use it every other day. People who don't ever need to use deodorant often assume that it's because they are cleaner and healthier and eat better than people who do need to use it. That's just not true. You have no control over your genetics.

Whenever they start sweating like an adult. Little kids can't sweat much which is why they don't handle heat well. When they hit puberty they start sweating.

Around 10-11. But my girlfriend's little brother is about 8 and he needs deoderant already. Nothing weird about it.
