I frequently make cash deposits at my bank's atm and was wondering how the people who collect the atm deposit-envelopes knows it's your money that's been deposited when you don't enclose a deposit slip telling them your name/account info. Sure, you inserted your atm card and inputted all the necessary info to let the machine know, but what prevents unscrupulous people
from telling the atm they enclosed more money than they actually did?
I'm guessing that the atm machine somehow labels the envelope with all the info so that when the bank person opens it up he/she knows who and how much was supposed to have been deposited.
