I think it's 1500/256. I have ATTBI myself and I get about 180 k/s down and about 30-35 k/s up.

used to have ATTBI ... hated it because they capped our uploads at something like 15k. usually slower because i shared the connection with three housemates. not cool. but on the bright side they came and replaced our four defective modems for free. i dont know what was wrong with the modems.

from what i heard, this might only be a bay area promotion. i got in on this deal 2 months ago. and i've been getting 1500/256 constant. however, ppl who live about ~7 blocks from me on the other side of campus complains a lot. i guess this has to do with how many ppl in your area uses cable.

I"m in fresno.. curious if this deal is around here.. I already have cable but my Dad's just found out he can get it.
I sent him link.
as for speeds.. in 2 years of service I've been totally happy.. with only 1 or two drop off's in all that time. 35K up and 180down.

when they incresed the price from $35 to $42, did anybody get the $7/mo rebates?
they said that the rebates are going to end this December.

the question is how do you get the rebates?
thnx.

You don't actually get a rebate, it is credited on your bill. At least it is on my bill. It ends 12/18 or something.

Anyone know if this is good in socal? I am really interested in this...been waiting several months for a deal like this to come along so I can drop the university's free dialup. Ugh...and I was used to T3 speeds as an undergrad...

Yes, you can. We live in a basement apartment of our house, and rent out the upstairs 2 floors (rent out 4 bd 2 ba). We just signed up for ATTBI this fall, and since the renters already had ATTBI we just had to make sure that when our line was installed, that noone's signal was adversely affected, ie make sure the filters in other areas of the house are installed with the total house network in mind. Yes, this means you share bandwidth, but you already share bandwidth 40 feet down the road on the cable wire, at the next house or apartment. The speed is still great, at least if you live in an area with not many cable internet customers.

I heard all kinds of horror stories about cable internet before we decided on getting this, but we have had zero noticeable downtime, though once in awhile web sites don't come up as fast as you like, I have no way of knowing if this is an overloaded server end or our local network. No loss of connectivity yet in 3 months. This is in NW Washington state (Bellingham).
