Took advantage of the A7II deal to replace my old A7. 1/40 using the 200/2, between the IBIS and my sniper-like abilities to be still was able to get a sharp shot. :D

Bald eagles, Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, USA

My nieces grew up in Prairie du Sac and therefore had no idea that bald eagles were ever endangered because they are everywhere. :D I grew up not far from Prairie du Sak, canoed the river there, and never saw a wild bald eagle until I was an adult. Score one for banning DDT. :)

It is nice to see a picture as opposed to a link.

Wait. You've put the Nikon 200 f/2 on your A7II body?
That must be interesting to hold... :p

It's fun, I haven't had many opportunities to really use it though. I kind of forced it, did some street photography with it. :D

Too funny guys. :p

Because I don't trust the lugs on the lens, I wore the next strap and a blackrapid strap attached to the tripod mount the first few times I took it out. I don't know that I will ever completely trust the lugs. :D

Cat in the backyard just a little while ago using the 200/2, you can see how thin the DOF is. It's not surgically sharp, but that's not always a bad thing.

I'm not one to say a particular lens gives a "3D" look, but that really does.
It's almost as if you have a poster set up in the background- the foreground looks that different.

Took these shots recently, brought the wrong prime so I had zero stabilization. They aren’t as sharp as I’d like, but they are ok if not at zoomed 100%.

EDIT:
To clarify the first one was with the wrong prime, 55mm f/1.8.
The others were taken with 35mm f/1.4.

Yeah, it is pretty crazy. If the cat is patient, I might try to do a comparison between the 200/2 and another random lens. It'd be great to be able to us the 200/2 more frequently, but it's a big production getting it out of the bag and all that.

One of my preciouses shot with a more conventional Tamron 27-75. :D
