We have a pretty nasty inversion over Boise right now. I decided to take a small drive up to Bogus Basin outside of Boise to get out of the nastiness. I was rewarded with one of the prettiest views I've seen for a while. I spose you can say I went walking on clouds this evening...

Enjoy!

Hey Spooooooooooooooooon, with super long exposure, how do you preview the image to make sure the image comes out right?

Compose, then carefully screw on the filter. Get pissed if I screw up a 10 or 15 minute exposure due to laziness. :D

Smooooove: beautiful!

edit:

This was one that I screwed up. :D 10 minute exposure (with long exposure NR on, 20 minutes to find out I f-ed up), for some reason I spaced on taking time to compose and then it was drastically underexposed. The picture I posted a few back is a crop of this one.

Not mine, father-in-law's. Taking more time to shoot as he's gearing up to retire.

He's starting to learn PP, sent me some raw files to mess around with.

Just arrived today: Minolta Hi-Matic 7S, produced in 1966. :D Got it for $30. A near-mint black one went for $300 earlier today.

could be, dunno! was fun to try and shoot though, haven't had many opportunities to get insect shots.

also can't wait till I get a zoom lens and play with that. kit lens has been fun so far however.

On subject of bugs, here's an earwig I managed to find. It's very dead, and the legs broke off when I picked it up. Rare to find a bug at this time of year, found it dead in the basement.

missed an awesome shot yesterday where a huge flock of birds exploded out of nowhere, but then I was able to catch this guy just as he was flying away!
