Took this today after a rain shower. These evoke a wow from pretty much every one of my neighbors. Last year they were just cream with a few specks of purple, this year, cream colored with huge center of purple. Stunning I think.

This is literally straight from the camera no edit.

Great pictures guys. I'm looking forward to the day I can purchase a more serious camera. :D Until then, a macro shot (with some GIMP trickeration) of a glass bowl/vase thing I took while watching a movie earlier this evening.

Boot Lane -

So the story is that years and years ago some old timer was out in the field doing whatever old timers do. Apparently the field was wet and he lost a boot in the mud. Walking to the fence, he put his remaining boot on the fence post in disgust and walked home barefoot. (Probably kicking dirt along the way) Since then, there have been literally hundreds of 'mystery boots' show up on the fence posts surrounding this field. I thought it was a cool story.

Enjoy!

Just a quick test of an adapter I got. I'll try again soon, when I have more time to set up with a remote and manage to tweak the scope a bit more. It really is a pretty cheap telescope though.

Took this today in Ka'anapali, Maui. The only manipulation I did was increase saturation slightly. I just got a used Sony HX1 and I love the image quality

My chess set waiting for the war to begin. Fuji Finepix 1/42sec, F/5.2, ISO 200, 17mm (~50mm on a 35mm camera), handheld.

Opinions... Which photo do you think came out sharper? The previous moon photo, or one of these?

This one was at ISO 100 with an X2 Teleconverter

This one was ISO 100 no Teleconverter

Griffinhart - what shutter speed were you using for ISO100 at night? Jees ... Also, the picture without a teleconverter looks sharper, but has a higher contrast.

The aperture is fixed, so no adjusting it. The primary Aperture is 70mm and the Focal Length is 700mm, so it's basically f/10 without the teleconverter. If I have the concept right, the x2 telconverter doubles the focal length making it a fixed f/20.

It has been suggested to me to try increasing the ISO a bit and increasing the shutter speed. But it will be a few weeks before I have the opportunity to try again. I want to see if I can get the shot a little sharper and clearer. It's possible that what I lose due to a higher ISO will be more than made up for since I'm still getting a little motion blur.

Couldn't get the camera level. I was stepping over a huge bathtub with my arm outstretched. This was at a historic home opened up by the city.

PP is just an vintage action with the opacity pulled back.
