Hiked up my local hill again figuring it'd afford a great view of the fireworks from multiple cities. While I saw fireworks from multiple cities, I was too far away and too high up to have the evening spectacular I envisioned. :)

Heard from a friend that you could see some Humpback Whales from a pier on the coast - I figured, "I probably won't see more than a flipper - but I'll try."

I've said it before and I'll say it again - 200mm on FF for anything but portraiture isn't super useful.

But it was awesome seeing these animals so close ! We literally spent 5 hours on the pier, ooh-ing and awe-ing.
