Let's see, where to begin. I'll just go point form, because I will get angry if I go full prose.
1. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 about 3 weeks ago or so (had just installed a new hard drive and a HD5770 vid card a couple days prior). All with no issues.
2. Approximately a week ago I started to get really bad lag/packet loss in TF2. My pings would spike up to 200+ and the game would skip, making it unplayable. Every time I press 'tab' to check the leader table, the game skips. To sum up, the game is unplayable now. Also happening in CS:S and I think in The Witcher (I can't see my guy actually striking the enemies, the guy's just seem to die).
3. I had Avira running the entire time plus I always use NoScript while on the web. Did a full scan with Avira (also switched to MSE and did a full scan with that) then used CrapCleaner and Spybot S&D, but nothing was found in the way of viruses or anything else.
4. Completely uninstalled and re-installed Steam and the games. Did not help.
5. I posted in this thread at the Steam forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=791112&page=3 No help.
6. I tried this fix: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1043281 Did not help at all and actually seemed to make things worse.
7. My current rig:
Mobo: Intel Badaxe 2 LGA775

CPU: C2D E6600

GPU: HD5770

HDD: Western Didigital Caviar 1TB

Case: LIAN-LI V Cool PC-V1200 A-PLUS Silver EATX

PSU: ThermalTake Tough Power 1200W

RAM: Corsair Value Select PC2-4200 4GB 4X1GB DDR2-533

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64
Everything else on my PC works fine and I have so much stuff (files, music, etc.) on here now I really do not want to re-install Windows 7 just because Steam is being a bitch. I have to assume it's Steam, since nothing else is having issues.
Anyway, looking for help, or any thoughts as I have most of my games on here and would love to actually play some of them.
Thanks in advance.
