You know, I have an interview from Halloween in about 1982 or so with DLR, and he said that exact quote that ended up in the song Panama later.

How hard is it to sing a fscking song together if it makes you millions. I have no respect for any of them.

you seem to have a lot of hate on those that profit.

What have you done/accomplished that should EARN their respect?

I learned how to kick my fridge to make it start running again...don't like that earns me much though 😉

Not even close, Songs like Dance the Night Away had a uniqe sound that no one else had. Van Haggar was just more rock.

BTW... Why is Anthony out?

Yeah, this will last about a week until they start squabbling like children....again....and it all goes to hell.
As long as it's after I get to see them again.

They'll have to play in separate arenas to hold both of their egos.

AWESOME! This is fantastic news even if I won't be able to see them. In my opinion Van Halen w/ David Lee IS the greatest rock band in America's history and a tour like this would be epic.

Aerosmith

Without Michael Anthony = Not the "Real" Van Halen, sorry.

Should be interesting though if it comes off...I hope they start the tour on the West Coast, may not make it East.

They've turned this whole thing into a soap opera for so long that frankly I think most people aren't going to give a ******.

Dunno. I think there are still a ton of VH purists out there that would go in droves to see a DLR-led VH. I'm not into them like I was in the 80's but I'd probably go see them if they joined up again with David. I just have a hard time believing DLR has enough voice left to give the crowd what they want. With that said, I saw him here in Charlotte for an uptown free concert a few years ago and he rocked the place. It was pouring down rain and there were still about 15K standing at the square going nuts. His charisma/stage antics can probably compensate some for his voice but I still don't see he and Eddie surviving a tour together.

Fixed.....

Na, they would be the most successful/longest-lasting, not the greatest.

Because he's friends with Sammy and toured with him this summer. They played a second set after Sammy's solo band and billed themselves as "The Other Half"...meaning the other half of Van Halen.
That pissed Eddie off...and Eddie has been trying to get rid of Mike since the early 80's. Billy Sheehan is one that EVH wanted.
So now VH has Eddie's son, Wolfgang, as bass player. Eddie says Wolfie can really play. We'll see...but I guess Eddie should know. Wolfgang came onstage at a few shows during the 2004 tour and played guitar with Eddie a bit, so I know he's been playing for years now.

Can he sing Anthony's vocal parts though? His harmonies were as big a part of Van Halen's sound as his excellent Bass playing.

Compare Van Halen's influence and sheer technical ability to Aerosmith, member for member.
DLR is the greatest rock frontman in history, bar none. Not the best SINGER, but best frontman by far. Even Steven Tyler would probably tell you that.
Eddie is the best rock guitar player, and probably influenced more guitar players than anyone outside of Hendrix. Even if you don't like him, you cannot possibly argue against his impact, and you certainly can't argue that Joe Perry is even close. Joe Perry even says Eddie is one of the best.
The rest of the band is a wash...who cares. Michael Anthony vs. Tom Hamilton...wash. Joey Kramer vs. Alex Van Halen...AVH is better.

The main thing Aerosmith has done is stay together for all these years. They certainly deserve to be in the rock HOF, but they are nowhere near as good as either version of Van Halen.

Yep, that's what most of us hardcore VH fans are wondering. Those high harmonies were almost as much of a part of the VH sound as Eddie's playing or Dave's screaming.
Mikey is a good bass player, but his real contribution is his backing vocals, for sure.

It's official. Wolfgang Van Halen, the son of Edward, is now the only member able to jump on the song "Jump."

That...is...a..CLASSIC line!!! I gotta steal that!

I take it you've never heard of Robert Plant or Mick Jagger?

Plant was a much better SINGER, not FRONTMAN. Jagger? Nay, DLR was better. Jagger wasn't much of a singer, either, and DLR's stage presence dwarfed Mick's.
Not that Mick isn't great, though.
But Plant, heck...watch any old Zeppelin concert. He was downright boring onstage. He didn't do anything but stand there and sing. But oh, how he could sing.
I'd say Jagger was a better FRONTMAN than Plant, but a far worse singer.

That will no doubt be one of the biggest/best/$ making tours of all time. I know I will be there.
