VAN HALEN AND ROTH - FINALLY IN 2007:
No more teasing. Never tease where Van Halen is concerned...I have information from a highly placed source that Van Halen will likely tour in 2007 with David Lee Roth as frontman.

Negotiations are currently underway to re-unite Van Halen with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that will take in Amercia and possibly other territories. While nothing in the world of Van Halen is set until the band walk out on stage, I can confirm that negotiations between all parties have been underway for some time, trying to put together a big 2007 re-union tour.

One would presume the tour will feature classic VH era songs only. What I do not yet know is whether this plan includes exiled bass player Michael Anthony. Perhaps Wolfgang will play bass? I'm told these questions will be answered shortly.
Van Halen last toured in 2004 with Sammy Hagar, but the tour ended on a sour note and Hagar has not talked to Eddie Van Halen since.
Finally. Let the greatest American rock band in history take the stage for one more tour.

Well, it's almost official. The tour is on, Michael Anthony is out, and Wolfgang Van Halen is the new bass player.
Van Halen is going into the Rock Hall of Fame, and the tour starts a couple months afterwards.

QFT. There is no way these guys can get along. Curiously, it seems like Eddie Van Halen is the one nobody can get along with. I heard him interviewed recently on Stern and he seems to hate Michael Anthony more than either Roth or Hagar. These guys could be like the Eagles, and bite the bullet and get along for business reasons - they would make a fortune with a full-blown tour - but Eddie seems to be too much of a head case. Now he is producing porn movies, and claims to have somehow cured his own cancer through some mysterious, illegal experimental treatment. What a weird guy.

Dave's time has long since past. He just makes a fool of himself every time he appears before a camera

The ONLY WAY IN HELL this will work out is if David and the rest of the band travel separately to every show, have separate dressing rooms and spend minimal time together. I'm not even sure they could get away with many rehearsals before it fell apart due to too many egos in the same room. I think once they're on stage, it works out great. I just have my doubts about all of the elements leading up to that point.

Sammy >>>>>>>> DLR. Dave is a nut job...just like Eddie. Eddie the the whole problem. He can't let anyone in the band be bigger than him.

Has anyone heard Dave's album where he re-did all the old VH songs?

Huh? Producing porn?

Eddie is a confirmed nutjob and Diamond Dave is almost as bad. I'd love to see them on stage together again though.

Last I saw of him he was singing a bluegrass version of "Jump" on some morning show, complete with banjos and harmonicas.

VH of 20 yeasrs ago no longer exists.

That's just... disturbing.

Best of luck to them, I guess, though I too have my doubts that it will last longer than a week. Sammy Hagar is great, but to me DLR is VH.

Sammy = The blonde woman that ruined Van Halen

Cabo Wabo is pretty good tequila though. :)

He did that on Conan too...it was a real "WTF???!!!" moment. When Led Zeppelin redid their music on Unleaded with an Indian influence, it was REALLY cool. This however was a complete disaster.

Dunno. I think there are still a ton of VH purists out there that would go in droves to see a DLR-led VH. I'm not into them like I was in the 80's but I'd probably go see them if they joined up again with David. I just have a hard time believing DLR has enough voice left to give the crowd what they want. With that said, I saw him here in Charlotte for an uptown free concert a few years ago and he rocked the place. It was pouring down rain and there were still about 15K standing at the square going nuts. His charisma/stage antics can probably compensate some for his voice but I still don't see he and Eddie surviving a tour together.

Agreed. And to think that DLR just played at our state fair like a week ago. My how he has fallen since he was drunk onstage fogetting the lyrics to Unchained and Jump when I first saw them live in 1984....or maybe not. :D

Dude, the "I forgot the f-'n words" was/is part of his act...he did that every night.

Dave can still sing just exactly like he did years ago.....the only thing he has lost is his trademark scream.

But as far as straight-up singing, that hasn't changed....then again, seeing VH with Dave wasn't about hearing him sing every note....it was more of a visual experience.

Now that he looks more like the Crypt Keeper than the DLR of old, he's paying more attention to the actual singing the last few years.
