Ahh yes let the cop haters fund a kickstarter.

What could possibly go wrong. 😛

Pledge $150 or more TODAY to get:
- This Just Announced Hoodie

Sounds like they are trying to kill off their donators.

I find it hard to believe that this is a problem worthy of a documentary. I don't doubt that cops end up killing a lot of dogs in any given calendar year though.

Cops probably kill a lot of dogs that attack them or act threatening toward them. As with anything that happens on a large enough scale they probably also kill a much smaller number of dogs that didn't deserve it due to cops being cruel, stupid, misinformed, mistaken, or any number of other things. If there is any problem, it lies with this small percentage of dog deaths that have no real justification. That isn't exactly a great thing, but it also isn't something I'm prepared to fund a documentary about either.

If you are looking for cop hates, go to LA and Detroit and take on the gangs there. These are real stories of the people who lost a family member for no reason.

It is a growing trend - as explained in the commentary on YT.

This is a internet forum thus 90% cop haters unless you have somehow missed all the cop threads. 😉

This.

If the dog is lunging at the cops it's a threat as we have seen in some threads and needs to be dealt with and letting it escape is not a option either that should happen and you can't exactly chase it down like a person.

I would rather not watch a documentary about this as I know where it would go with this issue especially when it's usually a one sided conversation.

It is a material from the dash cam. Covering your eyes and ears is not a solution. You are afraid to hear stories from people who are not criminals. It could actually happen to you and your family.

Donating to a no kill shelter would save 100x the animals then something like this.

Thread needs to be moved to P&N so it can go bad over there like I am sure it will be.

Fine I watched it and as the cop after the part said it was justified as it appeared to be charging at the cop so don't understand the issue.

You can't expect him to wrestle the dog down as it's a threat.

I disagree, these pets were properly homed and cared for, in many cases they got shot due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was an injustice. Also, it is not P&N.

You are misstating the video.
Jim was talking "in general" and not about this particular case. So you are watching the YT material and do not comprehend it. The dog got loose and it was not charging at anyone. It got shot just because the cop yielding the shotgun was an amoeba and should not be a police officer. An innocent creature died because of nothing. A small confused voiceless animal running around is not a threat.

My only objection is that I just don't see this as a huge problem. I think we should prioritize the things we are trying to fix in society.

Tell you what. When we pay off the national debt, eliminate racism, fix the educational system, invent a clean energy source to replace fossil fuels, and possibly accomplish a few other things that rate higher than domesticated canines in the grand scheme, then we can come back and make sure nobody's dog ever dies before they get tired of it.

It's a friendly dog that "wouldn't hurt a fly" until it mauls someone.

But it is true that dead puppies aren't much fun.

The real issue is the senseless "war on drugs" that has swat teams raiding the wrong house or apartment to look for drug dealers. End that madness and many puppies will go un-cided.

It wasn't running around.

It got out of the car and appeared to be had turned around and charging the cop before he shot it from what little you see.

I'm not gonna provide funding for some arts major dumbass to make a one sided "documentary" instead of spending his time actually doing useful shit.

document something that a real problem, like owners who dont take care of their dogs.

im so sick of this bullshit statistics. just because theres thousands of youtube videos of a couple incidents doesnt mean its "increasing"

fuck this stupid reactionary knee jerk society we live in

my inlaws dog was a pretty dumb meat wagon. he hated the shit out of me every time i met him, but would calm down if the close family would be there to show i wasnt a threat. anyway, he attacked like 3-4 people just getting clothes and he would always be a flight risk if he got outside the fence.

cue a couple days ago, he was put down because he bit the shit out of someone.

moral of the story, people need to stop negligently raising animals. its not the dogs fault, we bring them into our society and expect them to understand the laws of human conduct and disregard laws of nature with little to no training? fuck that

these are WILD animals by nature and must be treated with the utmost respect for that

yes, the dog above before it was pit down was still calles " a big cuddly lap dog", which he was, but only to his owners

how about this whiny scapegoat make a video about who really hurts animals....ill give you a wild guess police are far from #1

I am a dog owner so this video hits close to home. I also own a pit bull so I am even more aware of dog shootings due to the reputation my dog's breed has. Watching that video was hard and I could see a couple video clips where I said, I can see the cop being justified. But there were so very cold blooded dog shootings also. The one that hurt the most was the one where the office had a dog pinned to the ground with a Animal Control catch pole and the dog is laying there not moving or trying to resist, all it is doing is wagging its tail in a happy manner. I think, so good they caught this dog and will take it to animal control etc. Then the cop calmly draws his side arm, leans in close the happy wagging tail dog, and shoots it right in the head. Not sure where the threat was, the dog was caught by the neck in a catch pole and laying there wagging its tail.
