I am in Canada myself.

The people in those States should not exceed 100 ping on that server, and imo that should suffice.

Oh this is frickin' sweet -- an AT CS:S server! I am gonna play here a lot (hopefully)! I am a student at Case Western Reserve University. The whole campus is connected to the Internet via fiber optic internet access, so it should be super fast. However, if the packet shaper decides that it doesn't like the server, I'll probably have upwards of 250 ping, which is unplayable. I've been playing Counter-Strike since beta 6.5, but I'm a little rusty by this point... My CS handle is BOLt.

I look forward to seeing y'all online. Go TeAm!

He's selfish, the closer it is to British Columbia the better ;)

the server was not too great, to be honest. only 3 maps cycle and the shots don't seem to register part of the time, even though it's 100 tick. most of the people on the server had a ping of over an average of about 85 when i was on. it would have been better if the server was central to accomodate most of the at'ers.

Then don't play there, it's as simple as that.

Devioustrap seems to care so much about a central server, I'm sure he'd have no problem hosting one for everyone on his dollar as I have.

Right?

Don't you dare question my generosity, I'm only quoting what I was told.

That being said, I already host 160 AT'ers for free and I see no point for adding a second CS server as usually AT game servers are empty unless games are scheduled. You will be seeing a UT2K4 server hosted by yours truly sometime in the near future.

Don't question my generosity either... The server is quite expensive, as I am sure you can understand. Furthermore, I'm putting up a BF2 server for ATers. If people are not content with it, that's up to them. But to get ticked off about it because you can't have an optimal ping is insulting. If you don't like it, don't play there.

I am willing to consider putting the server in an alternate location so that more people can access it with reasonable pings.

Please let me know what you ping on the following servers

8.2.0.103 - Texas
8.6.74.101 - Missouri
63.211.110.152 - Georgia
63.215.74.27 - California

For me Texas and California are both reasonable. So I think if a lot of members say they are willing to play on either of those server locations, I'll have the server moved there.

After speaking to a few members I have decided that I am going to not only move the server to Texas, but I am also going to downgrade to a 33 tickrate. While the 100 tick is great for locals, people who are coming from the east coast are only being troubled by the high tick rate as it takes up more bandwidth.

Please note thoughj, I am doing this to garner more support from AT. Please show support for the server by joining it once it is in its new location.
