12 miles in the pouring rain (yes, both from and to work! wonderful.)

Got some weird hardware problem, where the front brakes appear to go out of alignment every few days.
I hope it's the brakes and not the wheel, anyway.
Braking and seeing the rim deform is making me queasy to the stomach :D
Shown a video to my bike mechanic buddy, he said to keep an eye on the spring and whether it glides sufficiently well.
Still, it weirds me out.

Been a while since I posted (I was away most of July). Since my last post, I have done 162 miles. Most notable is that I have dropped my time on my neighborhood loop significantly, and now have gotten the average speed on my best time to 20.0mph. Not bad for riding knobby tires...

12 more miles.
10 minutes before I left to change, a reasonable downpour started. Was still going when I went to the changing room. Rolled out of the underground parking, and into only a few drizzles. After a mile or two, even the road was dry. Damn mountains and their hyperlocal weather patterns :D

Pardon me if I totally misjudge your mechanical skills on things you've already looked at, but first thing to check is that the binder bolt that attaches the brake assembly to the frame is nice and tight.

Second thing is squeeze the brake arms together with your hands and make sure they close and snap back smoothly. If they are tight/sluggish, use a light oil/lube on all the pivot points and work the brake several times to get the lube worked in. If it's still tight, the bolts that hold the assembly together may be overly tight.

If the frame mount wasn't tight, I doubt I'd be able to flex the rim under braking.
Going by my attempts to make the thing budge along the axis that the adjustment screw adjusts, the assembly sits relatively tightly. Gave it an eight or so of a turn, but as it's a carbon fork, I won't wantonly torque it up.
Also, I'm not aware of how it could get permanently dislodged sideways, as the brakes have essentially no contact with the outside world ;)

Snapback and braking operation are all quite smooth, with maybe a bit more give in the pulleys than when new, but otherwise the actual braking action and snapback are fine in normal operation.

I have been getting some complaints from the front wheel bearing lately (mostly some transient slight scraping noises), but those bearings don't look user-accessible.

The main sympton is as though the adjustment screw is turning itself in and out. What I don't know, is whether the snap-back spring should be more flexible than the rim. It it isn't (I'd be surprised though) then a partial malfunction there might explain what I'm seeing. Currently everything is adjusted correctly, and working perfectly fine again though.

31 miles, 19.4mph average moving speed. After a four hour afternoon nap, I was so angry that I had to take it out on the bike :D

12 miles commute. Bottom bracket merrily clicking away again. What a bother.
