55 miles today. I went south of the city and did some gravel roads. The wind was merciless today, and the middle section of the ride was quite discouraging since it was up on the exposed farmland where the wind is especially strong. The wind was in my favor on the way home, though.

That gets me approximately on track for my Strava distance challenge, and the weather looks hopeful next week, so just some extended commutes in the evenings ought to get me through.

65 miles today as part of the Seneca 7 relay today. Astute readers may not that I don't think I have posted in this thread before. That is why I can barely walk right now.

7 miles today, just the direct route to work & back. 12-hour workday kinda took the wind out of my sail, they have a way of doing that.

Anyone know of a good smart phone bike mount? I want to get one and have no idea what's good!

EDIT: Corrected for my stupidity, too!

25 miles yesterday. I had plans to go longer on the way home, but had to work late and decided to take what I could get. You know how it goes. We'll be short-staffed worse than usual for the rest of this week, so I'm not too optimistic about finishing my Strava challenge right now :(

I took the liberty of editing a few posts above to debug the math, so hopefully we're on track again.

33 miles (according to strava the long way home is 27 and not 26 miles, plus 6 in the morning) and 1100ft total climb (largest climb around 600 ft, no idea where the rest comes from, that must be counting every little bump in the road....)

almost 18mph avg, 1:31 on the way home, and around 5 minutes of that waiting at red lights towards the end...

I felt pretty bad on the getaway, volleyball practice was quite intense the last two days, so legs were pretty charged. All-in-all a decent pace then. Need to work on my descent though, should've focused on a more aero position....

35 miles today. I took the direct route to work, and got off early enough to have some daylight left. What a concept. So I had one of those "None Of The Above" rides, where you have several possible routes in mind, but end up doing something else instead: http://app.strava.com/activities/50565113 19.2mph average with just the trunk bag, three big waterbottles, and no panniers.

Figured out where the strange climb value for yesterday came from: http://app.strava.com/activities/50482669
Apparently the GPS doesn't work that well in the valley, giving me rubbish value, because that climb certainly does not contain any small descents.

I also made the mistake of checking some leader boards on some of the climbs/descents I do regularly.
Some of these guys are either as close to pros as it gets, or using e-bikes :D
A 20 mph average up that climb is almost twice as fast as I went....
And my training hill can apparently be done in 20 minutes at 12 mph (8,7 grade, 1500ft).

Guess getting into the top ten of any of those will require for fatty old me at least a 400W continuous effort....yeah right :D

6 miles to work today. couldn't be bothere logging it (well, I forgot..) so total

And 27 again on the way home. Despite legs being super tired, I had a better average (mostly due to more luck with the lights on the final stretch) but also PBs on all 4 timed segments.

That makes it 120km this week, which will probably be all that's in it, seeing as there is another rainy weekend coming up.

It felt like summer today AND I got off work with significant daylight left, so I went for a solo highway ride: http://app.strava.com/activities/50739851

45 miles at 20.3mph average, on the mountain commuting bike, with three 1qt waterbottles and a loaded trunk bag, including about 4 miles of steady highway climbing. The Voices are pleased. The Voices permit an extra ration of soup :p

I did about 5 additional miles today, so that's a +50 for today. Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be even nicer, so I guess I should try to do another long-ish ride, but my legs are going to feel it if I do!

+58 miles today in nice weather :) After work, I repeated yesterday's highway ride on the mountain-commuter bike, averaging 20.2mph over 45 miles. Winds were just a bit higher up on the farm country. I had a flat tire from a piece of glass, so that interrupted my groove a little too.

After getting home, The Voices said "good job! you may have pizza!" So I put the oven on preheat, threw a pannier onto the bike, and rode to the supermarket for a frozen pizza. And cookies. And chocolate milk :p

So I have 77 miles left on my Strava distance challenge, with four days to go. Looks like I'll make it.

This week, April 22 - 28... +120mi

I'm heading to Shanghai tomorrow, then back to good ol' Utah Monday... I don't see myself getting the chance to get any substantial mileage in until May 11... UNLESS I can find the time to steal my dad's bike and hit some trails up during my week back home.
