No friends, no family, no pets, no gf. But I do have five PCs! :|

Back in May I was doing 70mi+ rides on a near-daily basis as part of a Strava challenge (1479 miles in 31 days). That was daunting. I was averaging about 18mph, so figure four hours a day of hammering on the highway, just because.

Anyway, keep it fun, whether it's 7 miles or 40 or 100.

I really need to get my Polar computer fixed (battery) or get a new one (it's about 7 years old) -- so I can contribute to this thread. I have been rolling about 30-40 hrs per month going on 3 months. Easily 1,000 miles ...

Did 22 today. Finally found time to get some long rides in, the only problem is it's usually on the weekend and there are simply too many people walking in the bike paths. I had a lot of close calls running into people.

Congrats guys!!! We blasted through 10,000 and kept right on going - nice work. The runners took 6 months, 9 days and 1,491 posts to hit 10,000 miles. We did it in less than 5 months with only 427 posts! I'm setting our next goal at 25,000 miles.

I did two rides this weekend: 68 miles on Saturday and 33 miles on Sunday. Finally had some nice seasonable weather for a change.

I ride without computer.
Just look where you went on maps afterwards, or use your cellphone to track.
That computer just makes an entertaining ride a number chase.
I actually got a computer for my old bike (and a reasonably good one too), but for my "new" , thoroughbred racing bike, I was suggested to leave it be, and just focus on getting shit done. I can tell my average speed by looking at the clock when I leave, and when I return, and I can mostly judge my current speed by looking around and cadence/gearing.

Anyway, I'd still like to hear about people's climbing prowess more.

Just wish list. If I were to get a 2nd bike, a true road bike versus my current hybrid road bike, the max I would spend would probably be around $1K.

UPS delivered my new bike yesterday. Got it put together and a wicked thunderstorm rolled in. Rule #9 didn't say anything about getting crushed by falling tree limbs so I put it away for the night. Got on it today after work, steaming hot outside. Rode 20 fast miles. What a difference. My old mountain bike felt like it was made of cast iron compared to the new ride.
