9.4 miles in the morning, in rain. Blah.

55.4 miles in the evening, in nice conditions. I went hill-hunting with the 44-pound bike, and put out some serious efforts on several of the hills, racking up 5480ft of ascent. That was probably the only good weather we'll have for a while, so I wanted to make it count.

The best part was taking the KOM on Thorpe Road on the first attempt. That's some serious humiliation points considering the former KOM holder rides a 15-pound carbon-fiber road bike :D

3 today, took the direct route to work & back. The forecast is solid rain, rain, rain as far as the eye can see (we're on track for a new March rainfall record), but I'm going to try to get at least 10-20 miles each way tomorrow.

32 miles last night. Nice sunny evening. Will be happy when there's a little more daylight time in the evenings after work.

67 cold, rolling miles yesterday. Had a hard time getting/staying warm. Felt pretty beat up at the end.

41 miles and 3600ft ascent on the morning commute: http://app.strava.com/rides/6102218 My legs felt terrible for the first half of the ride. This is after two rest days in a row?!

edit: bonus pics from this morning's ride...

Looking back from near the top of the highest climb, across the valley I came up

Jack the super-friendly dog who lives up here. Today I brought him some dog treats. Instant karma points! :)

64 miles and 6000ft ascent on the evening commute: http://app.strava.com/rides/6131120 Go figure, my legs had at least their B+ game going and I knocked out a ferocious assault on Thorpe Road in particular, close to 370 watts for 11 minutes. Greenwood and Cedar both got a pretty solid effort too. Towards the end I was in survival mode, but hey... that was nearly 8 hours of riding in one day, on a tank of a mountain bike. I'm having pizza :D

3 miles today, I took the direct route to work and back. A pity, because tonight the weather's turning nasty for another week... lows around freezing, highs around the low 40's, rain & snow. Studded tires for at least another week... :(

17 tonight plus about 1 in the morning. The evening ride was dominated by two very hard efforts on climbs, good for two new PRs: http://app.strava.com/rides/6225331

The rest of the ride was at a recovery pace, but I'll be feeling those climbs tomorrow... on the second climb, my legs nearly locked up at the end, and I've been training on these hills since December. Intensity!

Got out of work too late, so was limited to 31 miles this evening before sunset. 20 mph winds sure do make things interesting. I strategically selected a route such that it was a suffer-fest going out, but a hammer-fest coming back.
