30 miles and another 3000+ feet of ascent on the homebound commute: http://app.strava.com/rides/5547709 Non-stop rain and wet snow at 32F/0C. So that's 67 miles in rain and snow and over 6000 feet of ascent in one day. OK legs, you are officially allowed to be tired now :D

mechBgon takes the second 1,000 mile honors!

Only 11 days this time around. With the warmer weather coming, I think we should be able to average at least 100 miles per day. That would put us at 5,000 miles by Saturday, April 21st. Will you accept the challenge?

Are we mice or men? :D LOL...

Only 3 miles today. It snowed overnight, so it was slushy in the morning. I'd hoped to get a ride in after work since it was nice enough weather, but had to work late (again) and it sapped my mental energy, you know how that goes... :(

18 miles last night. Storms were moving through the area, but I managed to only get nipped by the tail end of a line of showers. Record warm temperatures here, so no complaints!

32 miles and 2500ft ascent on the morning commute: http://app.strava.com/rides/5605381 Freezing, but at least it was partly sunny instead of snowing.

Here's the corresponding evening commute: http://app.strava.com/rides/5634401

50 miles,5000ft ascent

2 quarts Gatorade, some water, granola bars (also fed one to a friendly dog that always comes out to trot along up the climb with me)

Bike weighed 48 pounds at launch

...and I made it home before midnight, even! :D

42 miles at tempo with a clubmate, then another 19 at a recreational pace with him and his daughter, who's just getting into road biking but looks like she has potential. Weather was primo today :) about 55F, sunny, dry, and light winds. We saw tons of cyclists ranging from casual to serious. Work at the bike shop is going to start picking up fast with weather like this.

Just the direct 3-mile round trip today, I think I have a slight cold. Plus it was raining this morning and I worked late this evening. Must be a Monday, huh?

Tomorrow I'll try to do better, although it's not going to be fun... rain and a low of 34F/1C.

My cold didn't get any worse overnight so I did a 19-mile morning commute with a new hill thrown in: http://app.strava.com/rides/5799742

It was below freezing and the roads were glazed up pretty seriously in places, so I took the time to throw the studded tires back on before I headed out. Still managed to take the KOM (king of the mountain) status on Houston Road by about 50 seconds, Strava estimated 350 watts on that one and I can believe it... rutted washed-out gravel road doesn't encourage smooth, efficient pedalling! :p

On the way home, I took the direct route for another ~1.5 mile, then jumped into the car to go pick up my brand-new road-racing frameset :sneaky:

26 miles last night. Interval work on the road. Whole lot different than doing them on the trainer.
