Go for it. Probably the hardest thing at first will be learning to ollie well, but just keep practicing.

It's never too late to do something you want to do. Make sure you understand the risks, though.

Maybe we're just lucky, but my friends and I have never gotten hurt (besides bruises or scrapes) while skateboarding. We also didn't do any crazy sh!t like boardslides down stair rails and stuff.

How about mountain biking or something/

Anyone older than a 12, 13, 14, or 15 year old, someone 24 for instance is going to be deemed "cool" because the kids will see it as an adult attempting to befriend them.

Ive skated for about a year. First day, you shouldnt even be at the park. First thing you need to learn how to do is ollie, and yes, stay away from the pipe for a while.

The first thing you need to learn is how to balance and get around on the board.

I grew up on a skateboard and used to be pretty good. But now that I'm in my twenties I know better than to jump on a skateboard and pretend I'm still 13. Its not that hard if you learned as a kid and kept doing it, but once you quit for more than a few months its incredibly hard to get going again.

You WILL fall and hurt something, 100% guarantee. To minimize injuries take it slow and develop your balance before attempting any kind of trick. If you get to the point where you want to try some tricks practice ollies on the grass first. If you have access to a halfpipe that might actually be easier than learning street as long as you aren't planning on trying anything above the coping.

Depends on how in shape you are, skating can be pretty hard on the legs for someone that's not very active. I used to be able to skate all day at 12-15, now I'm 20 and after 15 minutes my thighs burn like hellfire. Stay away from skateparks, find a nice smooth flat area to start out on.

And don't worry about hurting yourself if you're not being stupid. Just know your limitations, I've jumped off rooftops and slammed down 8ft high stairsets and never broken anything in the 5 years or so I've skated. Had some nasty cuts and bruises but never a broken bone.

def don't go straigh to the park  that'd be retarded on your part. go find a nicely parking lot or the sort and just learn to get your balance, turns, stopping, then move on to ollies, powersliding. its much easier if you have someone who already knows how to skate with you.. if not find a bunch of skate videos to watch in slow-motion so you can figure out tricks. don't expect to be doing kickflips for a little while if you don't know how to balance proper yet. i guess i should say moving kickflips anyway. good luck bro --don't let anyone tell you you are too old for anything, Ever. you figure that out after, and only after.. you bust your ass trying.

absolutely not, just make sure you keep your practice up. its a difficult skill. i started when i was about 13, took me a while to get my first tricks, but once you get the swing of things you're golden.

its also important to stretch before you go out, make sure you keep your bones strong, and overall health very good. getting hurt sucks and its best to keep your muscles and bones strong!

skateboarding is very aerobic, so this is good! skate or die trying man. its a blast, i'm 20 and i still skate at least every other day.

I'm 21 and i've got an urge to take up skateboarding too, as long as no one is around to watch it'd probably be fun to learn :)
