At 23, too late to learn how to play guitar

I wish I would have learned it earlier in life, but I've gone ahead and made a small investment in a guitar and have been strumming along. I wish I had more free time to learn, but alas I don't due to work and other commitments

Does anyone have any inspirational stories of late guitar learners who managed to learn the craft after the age of 21?

you don't even need to use your fretting hand to play 'nothing else matters', congrats!

Legandary bluesman Son House didn't begin playing guitar until age 25.

I start learning at 19. I use my supposed sleeping time to practice guitar.

Another over-30 here looking to pick-up the guitar in the near future, but then I'm trained as an oboe player so I have a bit of a head start with the music and fingers and whatnot.

Stop being a whinny *****

Get a damn guitar, get a book, and go at it.

Whining will get you nowhere.

Actually doing something has a chance of getting you to wherever you want to go.

Yes, i played the piano for about 8 years, but the guitar is quite different. Getting the fretting down is a pain (quite literally).

parody?
:)
I give it a 9/10 since no one else picked up on it. Unless, of course, it was mere coincidence? lol

It's never too late. People who says it's too late are just making an excuse for their crappy ability to learn and commit. I'm on the cusp of 21 and started 3 years ago, progressing very very slowly because I'm too lazy to put the time in.

Time in = Results out man

I have a very good e-book on guitar technique I could send you.

The problem, I think, with learning at a later age is that a lot of times, you learn things the wrong way and are too stuborn to change your ways. The early stuff is a lot of boring repitition that deters a lot of people from actually learning it correctly, and hence limits their playing ability in the future. That's the main problem I see with learning guitar, or any instrument, at a later age.

I just bought a cheapo guitar from costco and I'm going to learn as well. I'm 32.

I'm 38. I think the knowledge is just sort of leaking out on its own...

I have this thing in the back of my head telling me that I'd like to learn the piano someday. TBH, I have no idea whatsoever as to whether or not I have any musical talent.
