ASUS RAM Installation Question

I'm making a computer for the first time and when installing the RAM, does it matter which of the 4 slots I plust my RAM into (2x1GB)? Do I just use the first two slots or what?

What exact motherboard and processor?

You may have to use the first and third slots to enable dual channel.

The motherboard is an ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe and the processor is an AMD Athlon X2 4600+.

Well, I think it's the first and third for all AMD mobos but I'm not 100% sure. You've got the manual right? It should say in there...
