I'd save a little money, sell my 680, and grab one of these, if only it had the VGA Hotwire built in. No easy mods for ju :colbert:

I am thinking of getting one and returning my 7850 DCu, but the 7850 is such a good overclocker, I dont feel like parting ways with it.

If you sell your 680 i want it. It'll look nice sitting next to my 680 that i still haven't gotten around to installing yet. If i sent you mt 680 would you hard mod it for me chi?

Sell it for whatever you paid for it. Asus 7850's are the most wanted 7850 of them all

A lot of people. Same people who think the 480 is actually a better buy then a 7850
If you pay full price for a USED card when a BRAND NEW ONE WITH WARRANTY can be had for the same price LOL I would feel sorry for that chap honestly my lord it's not like these cards are in short supply. Edit when the 7850 comes down to $220 retail it will be the obvious choice even though the 480 is the faster card.

Assuming he paid retail what kind of nimrod would pay full retail for a potentially molested open boxed and more importantly USED 7850.

agree , wont want to deal with all the issues such a sale would cause. i could return it back to where I bought it from and just pay restocking fee, but that would put the 670 almost in the price range of a 680!!!

Wow, why if you don't mind me asking? If it was a hasty purchase, I can relate, I've second guessed many purchases. But these in SLI are as close to perfect as it gets IMO.

I'll let you know if I decide to sell it. I'll mod your 680, as long as it's a DC II lol.

Don what resolution do you game at? If you're at 1080p or lower you need to get yourself a Catleap.

We'll see about the catleap. It can't be much longer for someone to bring out a 120hz 2560 x 1440 monitor
Don, the Catleap has close to twice as many pixels as a 1080p display. That's twice as much gaming goodness. Even your GTX 680s in SLI can't peg many games at 120fps at 1440p resolution. In fact, in most games like Crysis 2 you will be at or near 60fps which is ideal IMO. Your system will be balanced.

A Catleap would be perfect for your setup and IMO you're wasting a lot of GPU potential with a 1080p monitor.

IMO you would need quad SLI to fully drive all modern games maxed out at 1440p with AA.
Tri and Quad SLI/CF are a supreme waste of money IMO. I think the forth card will never get even close to being pegged even the third card will never get pegged @ 100%. My rational is that if I am paying 100% for a product I will want to be using said product at 100% of it full intended potential that I payed dearly for if I were to buy into tri or quad SLI/CF but I never will. I am a big advocate of 2 way SLI & CF though because the scaling is getting better and better nearing 100% with these new cards in many newer games.

Gordon have you actually used Crossfire or SLI recently? It's not all roses. I had GTX 460 SLI and there were tons of new release games that had no profile at all, and in other games my performance was inconsistent.

Personally I have had an overall great experience with CF and SLI scaling since I started using this technology back in 2009 with my first dual card rig which consisted of 2x Ati Radeon HD 4890 in Crossfire. My personal logic is the same for Video Cards, CPUs, Games & most other PC tech and items which is as follows. I always buy last generations values at discounted prices because they are cheaper and all or most of the bugs have been worked out of them. Same goes for games I only by them when they have those great Steam sales and after the game has launched and the Patches/Drivers have worked out all or most of the game breaking bugs & "SLI/CF profiles" have been added ect. I used to buy the best GPUs on launch day but then I learned that it is not really the best approach when it's the games that one plays most often that should be the determiner of a graphical card and or other hardware upgrade not just because it the "New Shiny" I try and apply this logic to other areas of life as well :)

I'm surprised by how many of the 670 DCII TOP cards are in stock.
