I am on my second A8N32 SLI Deluxe and after a a few games of BF2, maxed out with 4x AA at 1600x1200, it seemed fine, until............
it began to do the exact same thing as lst time I sent my mobo back.
Last time I had gotten my board back, it had been repaired, and it was working well, except it did this, as soon as BF2 loaded up to 14% it would crash or lock up the PC.
I thought that they just had fixed what ever was wrong with the board and sent it back. When it did this in the game BTW, it killed my 7800GTX.
Now a couple weeks later I have a replcaement 7800GTX and a replacement motherboard.
But last night, as I said at first it seemd fine, until it did the game lock up.

Now this is the part I really hope I can get you guys to respond to, I dont seem to have much luck with advice lately, I think it must be the way I word my questions.

Do you think, as I am starting to now, thats its the PSU? At these settings a game MUST be using my voltage, in fact Im sure of it. The PSU is beefy enough, I think, but its possible it gotten messed up (I guess it is) when my whole PC seems to go bad at the same time.
The reason Im not 100% on these issues it that most parts seemed fine at first.
Also this was all working fine for the first little while I put it together last night. And its also all fine with the same hardware, only using a A8NSLI Premium instead.

Something I need to mention which I really hope some can help answer, is that if I leave AA off in a game (usually I would put it at 4x) the game runs fine in SLi.
Is this sounding more like a PSU issue?

FWIW - it doesn't sound like a motherboard issue at all. I would point to the memory or psu. If you run just one gtx, do you have any issues?

I agree with the Capt. It is possible to get one bad mobo but two in a row? Not likely. Besides, if the game runs fine with a single card then its most likely not the mobo. You need to check the voltages on the psu and the amperage and see if its dropping or fluctuating. Is that 620w Liberty psu a modular type psu? Also, you didnt say if you were overclocking the system any. Is everything running at stock?

Well, there are two ways I believe. 1)get a voltimeter and check that way and 2) I believe there are programs that'll do it for you internally. Not sure but I think Windows XP has one built in. I have heard of 3rd party programs that'll do it too. I'm sure someone on this board can give you more detailed info than I.

That's almost identical to my system minus the 3700+. Just a thought, but maybe you are overheating. I do not have the problems you are having, but my system was getting way too hot. If I tried to game, the temp alarms would go off....the case airflow was not good enough. I would then immediately exit the game and things would cool down. What temps are you getting? What type of case do you have? I am going give changing cases a try and see what happens. I also did not have a problem with this until I added a second 7800GTX.

I have read in other places that people with modular PSU's have been having problems with Asus SLI mobo's. Might try another PSU and see if your problems go away. Also make sure you don't have a heat issue. Let us know if you find out what the problem was.
