I may hold off awhile also.....i'm not even planning on overclocking for awhile, but I do need it to run stable at stock, right out of the box

If anybody gets this board please post here as to ease of set up and if it seems to run stable out of the box.....thanks

Hey guys, i am thinking about getting this board when it gets back in stock at newegg.
You better hurry! Newegg has them back in stock again for $299.99 + $6.94 shipping. I think I'm going to wait for the price to come down a bit, hopefully!

I took the plunge and bought it ...

You didn't wait for Gary's review. I'm going to wait for the reviews even if it's next Thanksgiving!😉

Yea, I'm probably going to regret that I didn't 🙂

I'm probably going to regret it also. I purchased one and got an email that later today I'll get a tracking number.

Have you got your's yet?

Yup, I got it yesterday and installed it last night. I'm currently installing Windows right now. No problems thus far, but it's still a bit early yet 🙂

Man....It seems like mum is the word on this board...i'm hearing nothing.

I think I am just going to order it when it comes back in stock....it seems to be in and out of stock very fast....lol

That's why I bought it when I did 🙂

I've had no problems yet with this board. System is up and running. To mess around a bit, I raised the FSB to 300 to overclock my E6600 (2.4 -> 2.7). Runs stable at stock voltage.

Lot's of potential here - I could probably waste the whole weekend tweaking 🙂

Could someone with the P5N32-E SLI manual see if there's anything about using a USB flash drive to flash the BIOS? I sure wish ASUS would put up the pdf version of the manual.

FYI - The manual is on Asus's website now.

I found it yesterday. My board is scheduled to arrive on the 14th.

for the evga 680i board ...the consensus is you need the optional fan(for NB) installed regardless of overclocking or not.

The striker comes with an optional fan. But this P5N32-E SLI board does NOT come with a fan. So...does this board really run cooler? Or, is this a potential problem??

TIA 🙂

Some have suggested that a fan is needed (see -> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=123227). However, I'm not currently using one for my board.

well after reading that link...reaction seems mixed.

some people say it is no hotter than others ...while others say it is scorching. But all are talking about some extreme overclocking scenario. So you prolly don't need a fan for stock ...unlike the evga 680i.

That seems to be the trouble with all these new motherboards...they all have very mixed reviews.

I would like to take some features from the p5wdh, p5b-deluxe, ega 680i, and the dfi rd600 board and combine them onto a new board. Then, i think i would be happy to buy 🙂

There are a lot of mixed reviews, probably because everyone is doing something a bit different. The best I can say is mess around with the board, and make your own decision 🙂

Do I think I need a fan for the NB? No, my temps seem fine, but I'm also not doing any extreme overclocking. If you're going to run at stock speed, you don't need it. That's my opinion anyway 🙂

Does a zalman 9500 HSF fit this board ok?

3NF you are running ok still....stable with that small overclock......also was that with just raising the FSB?

Don't know about the Zalman fan, but my Thermalright Ultra-120 fit very nicely 🙂

The small overclock was done by raising just the FSB and not touching anything else.

However, I recently updated to the latest bios (0405) and I now I have Vcore set to 1.4 in the bios, but Asus Probe and the Hardware Monitor in the bios reports it as 1.38. I've got the FSB raised to 1500 (375 x 4), clocking the CPU at 3.375 GHz (9 * 375). RAM is running at 800 MHz (4-4-4-12-1T).

This setup has been completely stable for over 24 hours now. I ran Prime95 overnight last night - no errors. Asus Probe and the Hardware Monitor in the BIOS report a core temp of 40C, but the program CoreTemp says it's 50C - I'm not sure which one to believe there - I guess it's somewhere in between 🙂

Quake 4 is smoking, but I also have the video card overclocked (eVGA 8800 GTS) - 650/950(1900).

Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4. I enabled the SLI Ready Memory (EPP) in the BIOS to get those timings. It's actually quite interesting since Corsairs specs say the standard EPP is 4-4-4-12-2T at 2.1Volts. Maybe CPU-Z is lying to me about the timings 🙂 I should double check that ...

I have EPP memory also. So will the bios actually show you the changes it makes when sli memory is enabled? DiD you set it to 0% CPUOC? I will also see what happens when I enable SLI memory.

The BIOS didn't show me the timings - it was set to "Auto". So I changed that to what I saw in CPU-Z (4-4-4-12-1T) and everything is fine. I set the Sli Memory Mode to Expert so that I would have access to the FSB/Memory speed settings.

Does anyone know what the going price for this board is, and where it can be bought? I'm considering it, but I cant find it for sale...
