Mine has been stable as a rock so far, however I have not OC anything.

That seems to be where the problems have been showing up.

Interesting, the Striker board doesn't appear on NewEgg anymore?

Anyway, the problem I had with my board may very well have been due to overclocking. Can't say for sure. But, most people will buy ($300.00) this board to overclock :)

As for it not being listed on the site, I am seeing it when I browse to it. For some reason, it is not listed under the gaming mobos. You have to go to the Intel 775 section.

I was referring to the Striker Extreme board. :) I believe that has been removed from NewEgg's site.

I know. Some of the others were saying the P5N32-E was gone from the Asus site.

I agree 3NF....for $300 it should be overclocked!

I am just afraid to try it right now....I will eventually get to it.

What bios version are you running mavtech....and what one were you running also 3NF?

I need to do some more reading up on overclocking.

Put the BIOS image onto a USB key. Insert the key into a USB drive. Reboot and then press Alt-F2 during boot-up.

I called NewEgg this morning about my RMA and it appears that I will most likely get a refund. The rep on the phone told me that the next shipment of the Asus P5N32-E SLI boards isn't due to come in until February.

Confirmed - NewEgg sent me an email indicating that I'll be refunded as they don't expect a shipment of these boards in the next 30 days. Now I have to decide on another board.

The P5N32-E SLI is already out of stock again at ZipZoomFly.

I think I just might go with the Asus P5B-Deluxe ...

Hmmm. I'm going to wait for this board. The fact that I have confirmation that it works with an Areca 1220 is enough for wait for it.

Calling all Gary's! Mr. Key, are you under an NDA in regards to the ASUS P5N32-E SLI and/or PLUS version? Anything that you can tell us would be much appreciated.;)

Is there anybody out in ASUS land that can tell those of us who purchased the P5N32-E SLI if we have a lemon or will a BIOS update fix our problems?

I compared a photo of the original P5N32-E SLI and the PLUS version and you can easily see that they have added/replaced many caps.

I think he's pretty much under NDA for any product that hasnt hit stores yet. At least that seems to be the norm most of the time. I dont think the Plus version is out yet so expect a NDA on it till it does.

You mean if I have this board, i may be able to get the new revised version for free when it comes out?

Is this possible?

I am about to return my P5N32-E because I have little faith right now that a bios fix will fix the OC problems, since asus claims they don't support overclocking when you email support about the vcore being locked past 1300. That and the need for a revision so quickly after release makes me worry about this board since they abandon it so quickly. I usually swear by Asus boards but this experience with this board has me a bit turned off. I guess I should mention the board is rock solid at default and minor overclocking but I guess when I pay $300 for a board, I expected to be able to push it more than I can currently.

I found this little chart on the Asus site that shows some basic differences between their 680i models:

Asus 680i models

Does anyone know the difference between Northbridge/Southbridge on the P5N32-E Plus compared to the standard P5N32-E? What exactly is different about the C55/MCP55 on the Plus version compared to the C55XE/MCP55PXE on the standard model. I wonder if it will be a big deal if I do go for the P5N32-E Plus with only the C55/MCP55.
