Many years ago the Astros and Mets played a whopper. IIRC 24 innings.

btw I was ready, willing and semi-able. But I never got the call to go in.

game 6, 1986 playoffs. went 16 innings and the mets knew they had to win because mike scott would have pitched game 7 and the mets couldn't hit mike scott. astros got 3 in the first, mets got 3 in the 9th, both got a run in the 14th, mets scored 3 in the 16th to take the lead 7-4, astros scored with 2 outs to make it 7-6 with 2 on. kevin bass struck out to end the game.
