My legs are part of my stomach now? Have you ever flown? I am just wondering why you think someone's midsection would be affected by a seat before their legs would be?😕

Bah your out of line, it's my seat i payed for it I can lean it back the whole damn flight, If you don't like it dont fly!
I can see the guys post who was in front of you. "I took a flight today and some Neanderthal was behind me moaning and groaning like a beotch". there are other means of transportation you know.

Your seat doesn't include my space asshat. Speaking of neandethals...

Lol you are thick headed what makes it your space? let me make this really simple for you.
see i buy a plane ticket that gives me the right to a seat the seat reclines i have the right to recline it. it's my space i bought it! Hello?

BINGO! The seats are MEANT to recline. They only recline 4 inches AT THE MOST. Get over it.

Moreover, when they recline they do NOT reduce leg room. So why are you people bitching?

It must be the airlines you fly on, but I know for a fact on the flight I took it clearly destroyed my legs.

Coach seats are pretty standard between airplanes. The TOP of the coach seats recline no more than 4 inches back. NONE at it's axis, where your knees are. Reclining his seat was NOT costing you leg room. It may have made you feel like you're in a tighter space, because the major difference is at eye level, but it does NOT decrease leg room.

Coach seats are hardly standard between airplanes. I can tell a large difference on this flight than when I flew American.

People who would have no trouble demanding fat people pay more if they need more room don't seem to even dare to suggest tall people do the same.

Why is that?

Write your congressman.

Dont fly economy class.

Just like we need all that security eh? 99% of it is pointless, because anyone with half a clue could devise a way around it. I would have loved to fly first class, but there was no first class spots available when I bought my tickets or when I checked in. What do you want me to do? Get someone's address and axe-murder them and steal their first class seat. When it's full it's full.

How about just asking him courteously if he'd be willing to move his seat up a bit.

Most people probably would.

I've never checked the demographics before tilting my seat back but would help someone out if needed, provided the request doesn't come in the form of a handslap.

Not the space between them, but the seats themselves. And I have NEVER seen a coach seat recline more than 3-4 inches at the top. None at the axis, of course, where your knees are.

As I said, AA has really added more space beteen coach seats. Maybe you should look into flying with them?

Who are these people? Unless someone's weight is a genetic problem(which that of course exists) then why shouldn't they pay more? They are using more of the seat(width wise and legspace wise). Tall people are simply trying to use the space that is allocated to them, but being tall can't be controlled by how much you eat or exercise. Plus, you can't solve the problem of obese people flying by removing a row of seat to increase room. I know I would pay an extra 20 a flight to have more legroom(and I normally fly first class, but I hate to fly anyways). Why do the airlines take a perfectly good plane and ruin it? It really depends on the airline, because I have had good luck with AA and Northwest.

I did say something to him... and he did move it back up.
Then all good IMO

I beg of you to read the link I posted. The seat I was assigned has the little box problem. There is a box under the seat in front of me, thus I cannot stretch my legs under a seat that is leaned back. You say it wouldn't affect my legs, but when that box is there you CANNOT sit like you would on a normal coach seat. You have to sit with your knees higher than normal, and a seat that is leaning back certainly crushes you.

You know, I'm not a short guy either. I'm pretty damn uncomfortable on planes, too.

If you remove a row of seats, or give a fat person two seats, you've STILL lost seats. And how are they going to judge which fat people are genetic, and which are gluttons?

Your best bet is to show up early and get an exit row or bulkhead seat. That's what I do.

But I would NEVER think to ask the person in front of me to give up space and comfort simply because they had the bad fortune of sitting in front of me. Nor will I give up my comfort to make the person behind me THINK they have more legroom, when they really don't.

All I can say to that is think ahead next time and get a better seat assignment.

There wasn't two seats to buy and there is certainly no reason to force someone to buy two seats for that reason. Can I force the people with horrible smells to buy to seats and isolate themselves? What about those that snore? What about those who have energetic little asshat kids? What about the people that want to constantly bump into you? Should we just force them to buy two seats? It's not like I've ever had a problem with the lack of room before. On the plane from Atlanta to Birmingham I was in the middle seat yet again, but the prick was not leaned back, and the little box was not there. I had no problem if the person DID lean back because the little box was gone. Were you on the flight or something Amused? You seem off today... there can be from 1-8 inches of difference in the room you have in coach.

I'm curious, but what airport do you fly out of? I normally do request a bulkhead or exit row if first class is full, however, in FULL flights you can't do that. I really couldn't get there any earlier considering I was one of the first people to sit outside the gate(brother had to be back at his place). Like I said I flew on 4 different planes, and this was the only one with any problem. I'm not really that uncomfortable on planes except when I have my feet on a little box and the asshat leans back on me and crushes my legs.

No, no flight today. I have a bone to pick with people who act as if reclining my seat is bothering them. I told you what happened with the teenage guy. It's a peeve of mine now.

If the seat was THAT uncomfortable, you could have asked the flight crew to swap with a shorter passanger. They usually will if you're nice about it. That or offer someone a bit of cash to switch.

The problem is, it was NOT the guy's problem in front of you. It's your problem for being tall. It's the airline's problem for having bad seating... but it is NOT his fault. He is fully entitled to recline his seat. Your misfortune is not a claim check on his comfort, nor should you expect it to be.

I'm going to have to agree to disagree with you on this topic. If the guy was sleeping or even resting I can understand, but the entire time he was LEANED foward in his reclined chair fvcking around with a gameboy or something. I couldn't use my laptop and my legs were crushed. It's called being considerate. I wouldn't have wanted to incovience anyone, but it certainly wasn't going to bother him. He was leaning foward and playing a video game. How exactly was he using the space in a way that it would be BAD for me to ask him to move it up some. It's not like he has to do it when I ask. He can decline you know as he has a working brain like the rest of the people on the flight.
