ASRock is up and running
Because of the ASRock58 deal I built cheapest i7x58 possible.
Last complete system 2x1 ballistix,E6600,680i cost me 832.
With the ASRock,i7930 and some Gskill total 430.00 half the priece of
the first C2Ds out.
 
Well,

My old X58 Extreme started acting up recently (Does not post about 1/3 of the time). Now that I have to RMA it, I am considering buying a better board. What I should have done in the first place.

This cheap mb runs 4200MHs@1.28v.
Had to modified a 775 waterblock to fit it.
Also got my first 9sec 1m Super PI not bad.
 
got a 930 in dallas last week and am running 4.2 w/2 sticks of ocz obsidian 1600... will not run 3 sticks with one stick from an earlier pair of the same part number (the pcb on the earlier stick looks a little different)...

may have to pay the premium for a 3 stick set... but for now this is a fast, cheap 4gb build... now to stick 2 of the 460's i got from td in it...

save your money... i had the same problem with the board. Registered only 2/3 sticks of ram no matter wut i tried.
 
installed mine with i7-930, kingston 6 GB (3X2) mughen cooler, Intel 80GB SSD G2 and this thing flys at 4.0 GHZ on air. now i need to either upgrade my 4870 or CF it
 
Can't get the board to run the 3 sticks of Crucial I bought. Updated the bios and no go, I guess the board doesn't like this ram =/

Had the same issue with this board.

I had to downgrade the bios, I would suggest you downgrade the bios till you find one that works. Doesn't make sense, but that's what I had to do.
 
so odd... just got in a pair of ocz ddr3 soe (camo heatspreader!!!) c8 1600... with two sticks of obsidian 1600 and one stick of soe (i picked the pcb's that were the same color) i'm up and running @ 1600 and 4.0...
