Two weeks ago, my rear projection TV died. I did some fiddling with it and didn't think it was worth my effort to get it back up and running, so I moved it to the corner and started looking for a new TV. Bought a projector instead and love it. I mentioned that my TV died to a coworker and he says "Really, what's wrong with it?" I said I didn't know, but if he wanted it he could have it and try to fix it himself. Over the next two days he annoys the shit out of me asking what's wrong with it and wants me to go online with him and figure it out. I find a post on a website saying the convergence IC could have gone bad and could be reaplaced cheap. Find a couple of the chips on ebay and ordered them for him as he doesn't have a paypal account. $16 which he gives me cash.
Anyway, the chips come in and he says "Ok, how do I take it apart? Can I just bring it in and have you do it?"
In my opinion, I've already helped him enough. I gave him a $2k TV for free and found the parts for it which could fix it. Now he wants me to take it apart and fix it for him? If I'm going to fix the damned thing, I might as well keep it.
It just pisses me off, if I'm going to do all the work, why should I just give it to him?
Am I right or am I just a baby whining?
