Sure, practically every tourist that comes here buys a pair of boots and a hat. That's generally how we tell who the tourists are.

I have a nice(expensive) hat and a couple of pair of boots, bolo tie, western shirts, etc...
I take them out of the closet and dust them once a year, about once every five years I actually put them on for some occasion or another.

(Hint) Your not a real cowboy unless you have a $300 oil cloth duster, some chaps and a plastic hat cover:)

Have you ever been to the South Padre Island area and what did you think of the area?

Do you like having toll roads with the bonus of never having potholes in major highways? Or would you rather be able to drive anyplace you like without ever paying.

I hardly ever use toll roads. I've never had to worry about hitting potholes on major highways toll or no toll.

Are you wearing a giant belt buckle right now?
What about cowboy boots?
String tie?
Ten-gallon hat?

(It would make my day if the answers to all the above were yes.)

No to all. :( Lots of my relatives live in southeast Texas though and could answer yes to all of them.

Can you say 'Taxman be raising the taxes in Texas' 10 times really fast?

Not really fast.

How do you feel about Bush? Are you guys ashamed of him yet like the rest of the country is?

I'm liked him at first, but I'm not the biggest fan of him now. I think most Texans are the same way. There are still your die hard Bush fans in Texas though. I do enjoy shouting four more years, but it's a joke.

..is there a place in Texas called "Big Tuna"?

Not that I'm aware unless it's in Spanish. You can catch big tuna in the gulf.

where do all of your ex's live?

Still in Texas, but I'm only a sophomore in college.

does armadillo taste like chicken?
is it better to hunt it yourself or scrape a fresh kill off the road?

I've never had armadillo. I imagine hunting yourself would be better unless you pick it up right after hitting it with an automobile. My mom thinks all armadillos have leprosy. :)

Are you in favor of Nuke-You-Lerr power?

Yes, we need to cut our dependence on foreign energy and develop cleaner ways of producing energy.

Exactly how big does it have to be before I have to go home?

What is it with Texan's over-active gun ownership?

How many guns do you have (that you use/could use)?

Why is 35 at DFW called "35 East North" and "35 West East"? (I might have mixed up the directions but its something whacked like that)

Not sure what you mean by the first question, but we got to protect ourselves from terrists and aliens!

I have a shotgun. My father has quite a few guns, but he is a Yankee.

I'm not too familiar with Dallas. I've only been there once actually. Houston > Dallas.

I hear Texas only raises steers and queers. Do you have horns?

This was almost funny the first four times it was asked.

How come the Alamo doesn't have a basement?

Basements aren't too common in Texas.

I've never been, but I know a ton of people who have gone. It's not as good as Florida beaches, but it's better than Galveston or Surfside...at least that's what I've heard. I believe South Padre is a cleaner than Galveston and Surfside. South Padre is a big tourist spot for college students.

I've spent much time there, it is one of the most beautiful places on earth IMO. There is a place there way down on the island where the paved road ends called "Malichite beach" that is just awe inspiring. There are places down there where you can spend days and never see another human being (except spring break). I wouldn't reccomend going there durring spring break unless miles and miles of beach packed with thousands of hotest bikini clad women appeal to you:)

*edit*
for the OP's post above

I've been to all the major beaches in Florida and Cali, and they all pale in comparison to S. Padres pristine beauty. The only beaches I've been to that compare are on the southern baja penensula in Mexico, and the north shore of Oahu

And I must clarify, when I talk about S. Padre I'm talking way down the island. Not that crap 30 minute out of Corpus where all the college kids hang out.

then where do you go to hide from texas twisters?

In a "strong" corner of the house or in the bath tub with a mattress covering the top.

To the closest real house. Everybody knows twisters only hit trailers.
