Ask a Texan man anything

I've heard that only steers and queers come from Texas and you don't look like no steer. Care to elaborate?

Erm... can't think of anything a Texan would know that I would want to find out. Despite what Texans seems to be believe nobody else actually gives a shit about Texas.

So whats it like having your quarterback sacked 400 times a season?

It doesn't bother me because I don't watch too much NFL. I like watching Cart McCry getting sacked by the Aggies though.

do you own a bunch of steer?

I don't own any animals, but my roommate has a cat.

Why do they not pronounce the "H" in Humble??

I'm not sure. I'm actually from Kingwood too. I don't remember why I put Humble.

Unfortunately, this is incorrect.

How do you pronounce "acorn"?

A - CORN

The best thing I have ever heard was from some German exchange students who commented that they were surprised at how modern/urban a particular city in Texas was, since many people not from the United States (and some from) seem to think Texas is a backwater "Old West" horse-riding state.

It's a Southern thing (and wrong)

Humble, the feeling, is different from Humble, the city. The correct pronunciation for Humble is not that same as the one for humble.

Why IS everything bigger in Texas?

Unfortunately we have a lot of fat people here.

Does Texas actually have 4 seasons in 1 day?
Why isn't it spelled Texis?
Why are they obsessed with swamp coolers? I haven't seen a swamp there yet
Why not raise pandas on the ranch?
Texan BBQ's have a lot of beef, while southern states have a lot of pork. I have no question about this yet.

Lots of younger kids from other states think we are all cowboys who ride horses to school. I remember new kids from out of state coming to school for the first time and wondering where all the horses were.

In the early days of Texas BBQ, beef was plentiful and cheaper than pork.

It stuck, and it's mighty good 🙂
