As if the Disturbed lead singer wasn't bad enough already..

I like Simon and Garfunkel and their SoS is a great song with amazing harmonies.

The cover is good in its own way. Different, but still good.

Butt rock. I like how they try to look like they are in pain during the video. Masculine insecurity tearing them apart during their middle age.

that's the hemorrhoids tearing them apart :awe:

oddly, though, i liked the remake a lot. maybe not as much as the original, but pretty close.

I'm not Disturbed's biggest fan by a long shot, but I thought their cover of Sound of Silence was *way* better than the original. When I think of the lyrics of the song, I think this suits what was trying to be conveyed.

I was having a conversation with my coworkers not too long ago about Covers that were better than the Originals, and we all pretty much agreed this was a top notch interpretation of the song.

And they're pretty much the opposite of me. I'm fine with modern music, while they're more of the stereotype "nerds that only listen to metal that you've never heard before" group. They still almost unanimously agreed it was better than the original.

That's what I love about music though. There's something for everyone out there 🙂

Personally I give it

super fun to play along with the piano too

Nice! I hadn't thought to bring that up, but you're 100% right. I'm no great player by any means, so it took me some time, but there's a lot of flexibility in playing it. You can make it your own. I can't carry a tune though so there's nothing I can do for vocals 😛

Surprisingly, I will say the Stone Sour covers of the Stones and Metallica are pretty damn good - have heard them both in the car and been straight up fooled until catching some vocals.

So you're one of those dipshits who thinks a cover is supposed to sound exactly like the original and if not then you whine like a bitch?

I feel like his singing is kinda mushy (mumbly?), but with a little more guidance I think he could pull it off. Actually pretty good at 1:35, and I like the original one a lot.

I think I realized I don't like this Simon and Garkfunkel cover...it's the mic.
Picking up all the hard k's and p's. I hate that. We are taught to cut that shit out.

If you want another "Better than the original cover", check out Spiderbait's version of Black Betty.

Love that song.

I was ready to come back here and call you out since it seemed a little too soft in the beginning but after 10 seconds I do like it 😉
