As if the Disturbed lead singer wasn't bad enough already..

Oh, and Fear Factory's cover of Gary Numan's Cars was awesome. As was their cover of School by Nirvana. That one won't be for everyone though. 🙂

I think their cover is fairly tasteful, just like all the other covers they have done thus far. Then again, I am a big fan of them in general.

This live version is much better than the video version, because he sings live and as the song progresses, he sings and becomes more prominent in volume as he sings. With the video version i think the volume of his voice is normalized. It does not do him justice.
This live version does. I think it is excellent.

I love the original. That remake is utterly forgettable; the style is reminiscent of A.N.Other metal band. It reminds me of those fucktards who covered 'Smooth Criminal' in exactly the way that I would expect a bunch of metalhead wannabes having a laugh over a few beers. In short, if you're going to remake a song, do something interesting with it.

This post is so contradictory it hurts my brain. You say to do something interesting, but then criticize a cover where they strayed from the original feel and did their own thing. The Disturbed cover is quite different from their own sound which is odd for them (they usually keep their sound with their covers) but you shit on that as well. Make up your own mind. You either want covers that sound different from the original or not.

You don't have to like it, but if you're gonna bitch then pick a reason for not liking it and stick with it.

I'd like you to spot the contradiction in my post.

I think where the main difference of opinion is that you think they "did their own thing", my opinion was that they didn't. The only departure from an absolutely predictable and stereotypical metalhead cover of that song is that they didn't break out the DUN DUN DUN DARRRR guitar riffs, but instead it's got a piano and strings background melody that isn't quite as insipid as I'd expect from the musicians who help Enya out, but it's getting there.

I don't really like Disturbed very much and I think this cover is awesome.

Speaking of covers and Disturbed, the cover version of "The Sickness" in Dawn of the Dead is awesome.

I don't mind Disturb...usually depends on my mood or when working out to get into it.

But this cover was awesome and IMO was better than the original which does nothing for me when listing to each of them.
