As if the Disturbed lead singer wasn't bad enough already..

SAWYER

Lifer
now he goes and butchers/over sings Simon and Garfunkel's Sound of Silence..ughhhhhhhh

The original is great, the remake is straight garbage. Yeah this isnt brand new thing but I just heard the remake

I completely agree. It sewer quality piss poor ear drum breaking refuse, that will probably make about 100x more money than S&G's version ever did. Music is in a sorry state when a song like that succeeds.

I like it, which is surprising. I usually can't stand hard rock remakes. Limp Bizkit doing Floyd....Five Finger Death Punch doing Bad Company...couldn't stand them.

Not that I'd ever pick it over the original, but I don't mind if I find it on the radio.

Not a big S&G fan, but already this discussion with someone on the wife's side of the family. They thought it was the greatest thing ever and I pointed out they were dumbshits and just wrong. The original is haunting...the remake...growls like some shitty late 90s Dodge Neon trying to get up to speed.

We don't get invited to many family get togethers. *win*

But it is better than fivefingerfugnuts

Really? That's the one you complain about? There's been a shitload of rock remakes of classic songs that ruin the original impact because of the genre change, and you whine about the one that actually keeps the same emotion and feeling intact? There's not even any electric guitar like you'd expect, it's acoustic guitar and piano... I think it's a shitload better than most remakes.

It wouldn't be a bad cover if the vocal pitch correction wasn't so painfully audible. Kills the feeling of emotion for me.

That's awesome

I'm going to make it my mission to share that sonic brilliance with everyone I know. 😀

edit: Brian Johnson can't sing for AC/DC anymore. Perfect, they already have a great replacement lined up and ready to rock!

Every song sounds like the Cookie Monster is singing.

Listen to the Cookie Monster vomit on this remake:

Have you ever heard David sing live? Seriously he would rather piss on an auto tuner then use one. There was a tad bit of excessive echo\reverb yes but that was for effect. I could detect zero auto correction.

He is just kind of naturally pitchy. Then again, I suppose that is one of the distinctions with his voice. I'm not really much of a Disturbed fan, but I think they did a pretty decent job with it.

Totally agree. I like S&G, but this remake puts more emotion into the song and captures the despair in the vision.

BTW, there are a couple live versions of this out there and they sound really good as well.

I liked it. A bit more emotion than the original. The original is still great though.
