I posted a thread a while ago about how my company was messing with the salesmen. They gave us unreasonable numbers to hit, cut our pay and fired a large percentage of the sales force. I transferred out of sales almost a year ago to stop the bleeding. Its been ok since then for me, the poor salespeople have continued to get shit on.
Not too long ago they announced our company was doing yet another restructuring. Now that they had trimmed down the sales department from 150 people to 30, they moved the sales department to a different center. OK fine. But they also changed my job. Instead of doing customer service, troubleshooting and retaining customers, I now am only taking disconnects. So basically every single person I talk to now is pissed off and not generally very nice.
There were two major things I liked about my job; the pay and the fact that they would pay $5k/year for my schooling. Well with the restructuring, they took away my commission plan. I now only get paid my average commission. I no longer have a chance to make more than that. Not the best time of year for that to happen but it is what it is. Well I finally was getting my ducks in a row so I could get my degree from WGU. I emailed HR to see what I needed to do to get my A+ test covered and they told me it probably won't be covered since "its not directly related to my job". That is despite the fact that the policy says that it can be used to further my employment with the company. Well I'd think working for a large ISP, A+ and a networking/security degree would definitely be in line with advancing my career at the company.
So now I'm stuck. They are messing with my money, messing with my future and are making me dread going in every day. I'd say its time to move on but its hard to match the money I am getting in Michigan's still not so great economy. I'm pissed, depressed, angry and hurt that they are treating me like this.
Thanks for listening.
