Knowing the definition of arrogant, and knowing that a LOT of the libbies call the President arrogant, i'm left wondering how that may is possible.

So, to all those that lean a little to the left and view Bush as an arrogant man, give me examples [within proper context of the definition] as to how Bush has proved himself an arrogant man in your eyes.
 
i think "bring it on" is a pretty arrogant statement.
i also think his claim to speak to god is pretty arrogant.
someone was on NPR yesterday, i think, that had written a book about religion and politics. trying to take it from all angles, i think but mostly seeming to feel that religious folks can be very positive for politics in many ways. the author confronts the idea that religion = zealot but he did say that many people are made nervous when someone suggests that they were "chosen by god" or that they communicate with god. i fully admit to being somone who is intimidated by that suggestion.
i feel like religion and humility go hand in hand but to claim a sort of exclusive religious communication (by exlcusive i mean the specific interaction, not that anyone is claiming "im the only one who can speak to god") seems directly to contradict that.
 
i also just remembered when asked (this has happened at least twice) he is part pressed to think of something he has failed at something.
 
His administration was arrogant to think they could win Iraq with some 150K troops. Damn foolish, and so there arrogance has begun to pay the price.

how the hell is "bring it on" arrogant? if anything, that communicates confidence to me, not arrogance.

Going to war in Iraq without the support of the UN is pretty arrogant.

not hardly. believeing that the UN will uphold its duties instead of lining its own pockets is stupid and foolish.

its obvious that you dont feel he is arrogant, that you and i differ on how we see his actions/words...
im not sure why you asked us to tell you these things so you could just refute them. there is no way to give objective evidence to a personality trait that one sees.


 
"Bring it on" is blatant arrogance, and those three words put our Troops and our own Homeland people into harms way.

"Bring it on" are three of the most dangerous words in the whole wide world, and Bush should be shot for saying that. But he'll just hang out at his ranch and vacation 30% of his Presidency away.
 
about the "bring it on" thing.
i must say that arrogance is confidence minus the resepct. so...i guess bush had done very little to earn my respect, didnt seem as though he himself was very respectful to the issues surrounding this. its a very flippant thing to say and i believe it makes everything seem very trivial.
 
Bring it on! Sounds good to me. I'd rather the terrorist go into Iraq and fight armed soldiers there instead of the suicide bombing us at home. So bring it on boys.

So you believe that when the Dub said "Bring it on" the terrorists gave up their pursuit of attacking us on our home turf to take on his challenge?:roll:

A: yes

Reason: genetics and environment he grew up in, he cant help it. I mean going AWOL with out being thrown in the brig does tend to make someone arrogant. Never the less we will all have to pay for it.

Anyone can have beliefs and stick to them. It is a willingness to be open to other beliefs that is a mark of true leadership.

There is a fine line between "Confidence" and "Arrogance". "Confidence" enables one to boldly go, "Arrogance" enables one to boldly go just because you can and despite mounting evidence that one is boldly going for the wrong reasons.
