ARRGH, pc halo and cheaters

Another pc halo rant. I was playing on a map today where I would get killed from across the map by 2-3 shots to the head with the pistol.

OK, i am moving, juking, jumping, etc moving around, and the other 2 people would not miss at all.. 1 shot would drain my shields.. another would make them alarm, and then the last would kill me.. all from people who claim its just skill.

Sorry, buts its freaking impossible to be that accurate with the pistol from halfway across the map when the shooter is jumping, you are jumping and moving, and all..

Later on in a different map with the same people, i got shot out of a tank by a short burst from the machine gun.. Ok, the machine gun is NOT THAT ACCURATE at the distance I was from the shooter, and it takes nearly a full clip even at semi close range to kill someone with full shields like I had, yet he emptied 1/2 a clip (if that), into me and none missed even though I was moving and I died.. its freaking impossible to do.

its as if every shot went into my head, even on uneven terrain from a guy who was jumping and moving around..

You suck at the game, quit whining. There ARE people that good at games. And you know what they do when people accuse them of cheating? LAUGH at your pathetic ass.


In counterstrike I could headshot people from across the map with a Deagle, and I ALWAYS got accused of cheating. It's called wasting time from midnight to 2am with friends in college.


Obviously you arent wasting enough time.

Play it on Xbox, that way when people cheat you can take thier controller.

Yeah, but shot out of a tank with a machine gun? Its not like online cheaters are rare - hell, I even stopped playing one game (Vietcong) online completely because of all the damn hacks.

In this case he may have been up against a cheater. Yes I could headshot people from quite a distance in CS with a Deagle, but not all the time. There were quite a few cheaters in CS, I'm sure there will be in Halo also.

If he was gettin' owned by the same guy, I'd say yes, but if it were diff. ppl., then you just need more practice. Running around in the wide open with good players is a death wish.

The only gun I really use in Halo is the pistol, and I guarantee that I could kill you in three or less shots on just about any map from any open position.

Shooting people in a tank is even easier since they can't jump or move fast.

Perhaps they were cheating, but they just sound like really good players to me.

I used to kill AWM snipers in Counter-Strike using a USP. It isn't that hard, if you practice something long enough.

I can headshot people with a knife halfway across the map in CS, and people always accuse me of cheating. n00bs.

People that complain about cheaters online frustrate me. I know people that are so convinced they are the best person out there that they will accuse anyone of cheating if they start to lose. It takes all of the fun out of the game. It's possible to make some pretty spectacular shots in Halo and that's just something you're going to have to live with.

It's not hard to be good with the pistol in Halo; it should have been nerfed or taken out altogether, the mouse is too accurate for the pistol.

I have no doubt these were good players and I know i'm not anywhere near the best player, but even the pistol zoomed in is not 100% accurate when you shoot it.

And i was WAAY across the map, jumping, crouching, moving in unpredictable patterns, as were they, and they did not miss..

Just seems too hokey that they would not miss AT ALL.

pistol headshots from across the map are rampant in the xbox version of halo

How do you know they did not miss at all? Perhaps they emptied their clip at your head. How would you know?

I feel your pain. I play a lot of halo and love the MP but there are an inordinate amount of scumbags that play halo for some reason. There are at least 2 dedicated TK'ers on any given server at any time. Also I know what you mean - i can unload a full clip into someone's head, they turn around shoot me twice and I die. Very aggravating. The on-foot combat just blows in this game. The vehicles, on the other hand, totally rock.

Other than the sniper rifle, the pistol is by far my favorite weapon of choice for the Xbox version. I think I would be just like that guy you described, taking you out from halfway across the level. The zoom is good and the added turning color of the crosshairs make it an almost sure thing that I'll get you. Just keep playing.

the pistol fires at a certain rate, you can tell if you've been hit by the immediatly following shot or not.

Because i would get hit 3 times in a row and die.. not spread out over 5-10 seconds.. it was bam bam bam dead.. and i was moving, jumping, etc.

Granted I'm not the best at FPS, although I am better than your average player, but from what you're describing, it does sound like they are cheaters.

I played the xbox version a lot and it doesn't seem likely 2-3 shots should be able to kill you from a looooong distance away. When I played, if the person had full health/shields and was out in the open, I would still have to empty most of my clip (pistol zoomed) on that person before they died.

I might just not be aiming well, but I'm pretty sure it's not normal to kill someone full health/shields from a far distance in 2-3 shots w/ pistol.

The pistol thing means you're a newbie at Halo. Play it on XBC on the XBox and you'll be 3 shotted (informal term) from every direction, especially on Hang 'Em, especially with the "sh!tty aim" that XBox controllers give you. (

) You should be able to 3 shot anyone with a KB/mouse combo. You aim for their head. 3 shots are possible halfway across Blood Gulch, if not further.

I'm not a 3 shotter by any means, (on XBox version) especially if I'm not on the hosted box, but it's not that difficult to do even with people moving. You jumping = easier kill for them. They know exactly where you are moving and can aim easier. Please stop calling people cheaters when you're not that good at the game.
