that's very cool :) I especially like how you documented everything. I've never really travelled much myself.

Wow, thats amazing. I will have to check that site out once I get a chance. I hope I can do something like that sometime in my life, though probably not for that long.

Wow, a real great adventure you had there. A thousand stories to be told later to all the kids!

actually, at my job i would've saved maybe 10k/year. the rest would've gone towards rent, insurance, food, etc. so the way i look at it, i forfeited only 30k that year

Welcome home ... I love your pictures, thanks for sharing them. I've done a fair bit of travelling myself, and can appreciate some of the cool experiences that are similar to my own.

Do you spend only $20k a year?

Okay, I've decided I'm going to do this as well. As soon as I save up some cash I'm getting my plane ticket. I've always wanted to just go off and explore for a year or two, but now I have some inspiration.

How did you do it on 20k though? That doesn't seem like much money to travel the world like you did for a year.

Thats great, the money you spent was so small though. I figured it would be more expensive, and was one year enough to see everything? I would want to spend more time than that.

Outside of Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, things are incredibly cheap. Lodging ranged anywhere from $5-10 a night, you could feed yourself for another $5-10. I spent $20k in a year, and if I wanted to make that money last another six months, I could've. Easily.
