You are wrong.
CATO is a libertarian thinktank. There is a significant difference.

Really no surprise that the Georgia governor got a D. I'd give the entire Georgia political class an F- at this point.

It said something about not counting governors' who haven't been in office very long...

wacky pataki isn't that great .... but i blame 99% of new york state's problems on NYC and the surrounding areas.

my parents live in PA and I'll be the first person to say that Rendell is a freakin' IDIOT. he slapped a nice new tax on gas. i guess he's trying to make PA's economy as dead as NY's.

my solution: give NYC and Philadelphia to New Jersey. That way PA and NY can be great states.

Don't get me wrong, anyone's better than Gray Davis, but education is really hurting here.

Bullshit!!! He's had to make some tough choices and he's done a lot more than that spending whore Davis and the Democrat filled legislature did. Democrats got us in this budget mess and he's trying to get us out without raising taxes (which the Dems wanted to do). We are already one of the highest taxed states in the US and we have a budget that rivals most countries in the world.

Education is still a bargain.

Reading that, it sounds like its based on cutting spending & taxes...so basically, its your rating as a republican. Should I be upset that my democrat governer got an F? I'd say no based on that...

Finally, we'll note the bipartisan nature of Cato's F students: Republican Bob Taft of Ohio and Democrat Edward Rendell of Pennsylvania.
Again, its not republican, its LIBERTARIAN

Arnie.... coming through. I wonder when Demolition Man will come true nad he becomes president. And Taco Bell will be the only restaraunt.

Pataki and the ny legislature are a huge joke.
Havn't been able to have a semblance of a balanced budget, let alone even having a budget written in time.

A huge crowd of clowns.

This doesn't surprise me at all. That's what the state gets for electing the mayor of Philadelphia.

How much are you paying for your tuition now? How much were you paying before?

Wow you really know nothing, but you have proved that not only with that statement but the others you make daily.

Schwarzenegger is very liberal on a LOT of issues. Heck look who he is married to.

Iowa has seen state tuition increase almost 50% in the last 5 years. Under a Democratic governor no less. ALL STATES are hurting and one of the easiest ways to help out is to lower the subsidy that they pay out on in state tuition. It cost students an average of an extra $8,000 over 4 years. That's pretty trivial when you look at the benefits. Take a loan and be happy you can still get a quality education for so little.

Yep, he's rather quite moderate. The whole stem cell issue REALLY had the tighty righty's on their heels.

The problem with tuition going up is students who are here on loans and such can't deal with it easily. Supposed you are, you'll probably have a part time job like I do to help pay for rent and board and whatnot. It gets to the point where you really need to hold onto that job in order to live because loan money isn't enough. Rental prices are going up, tuition's going up, what are you to do if you don't have rich parents to help you out? And at a public school no less...
