The video won't matter to the faithful. They will say he was shot too soon. Or he was being told to disarm and was complying.

All I see is a man who vowed to go out guns blazing reaching into his coat when confronted. See no issue with the response.
They're already denying it. Claiming that he was shot before his arms went down.

Not surprising. So far I've seen he simply lost his balance and was stumbling in the snow, not reaching for a weapon.

He was shot in the back with his arms up which is why he spun around and started reaching for where he was shot, not for a weapon.

My personal fav. He was knee deep in snow and clearly not a threat.

He had a 9mm pistol in the pocket he was reaching for. Good shoot, he was asking to be ventilated

He definitely reached in/towards his pocket at least twice (report was that he had a handgun in there).

Seems justified to me.

It also looked like he hit a LEO with his truck. Maybe it was just a sign, but it really looked like a person.

Was definitely a LEO that darted over and was narrowly missed. Looked to me like he bolted over to the side thinking the cars would be hit only to find himself almost directly in the path of Finicum.

It looks like the trooper popped up from behind the parked vehicle and ran out in front of the oncoming truck. My guess is that the officer heard the truck coming and stepped around to get a look, oops. Or what ^^ he said.

Yeah, it looks like the cop saw Finicum speeding and turning into the vehicle he was behind so he darted out from behind it, only to find himself heading right into Finicum. Regardless, Lavoy put the lives of the LEOs in danger and it's clear that he wasn't being cooperative. I also don't think Lavoy saw the cop behind him. What's really sad is the assholes online who are still claiming that he was murdered by the cops. If that's the case then why didn't they just kill everyone there?

I'm going to bet that these very same assholes say "Good shoot!" every time a cop shoots a black person.

Everyone else in the truck is lucky they didn't open up on the truck as it was speeding towards the parked cars. I think that could've been easily justified as a good shoot, as well.

With the stereotype of how cops aim, the other cops are lucky they didn't get shot by the cop that took down Finicum from behind.

the way the cop approached leads me to believe he had the guy sited for several seconds before he had to shoot. probably shot him right in the chest.

When LEO is pointing guns at you, put your hands over your head & hold real still until they say to do something different. Finicum wasn't the first guy to die from doing otherwise.

More than likely on that one!

Just watch. Not sure the Right-wing media will unanimously spin it this way, but the activists will try to portray Finicum as a martyr to the cause.

looked like an iraq war vid before the drone blows up the truck of insurgence. Not sure why people think they can fight the fed with plinkers. Good use of my tax dollars.

The reaching for his gun was painfully obvious.
Officers performed amazing despite the hostile and aggressive circumstances.

The whole episode is just really sad & symptomatic of how far the right wing has charged out into the weeds of cultish belief.

Did they actually get the flashbangs inside the vehicle? If so, fucking OUCH!

I know some of them are going off outside, and some windows got broken, so it is possible. Hard to tell from the footage from the airplane.

right there this starts you can see the flashes going off - https://youtu.be/aAGxDWKrjPQ?t=590

It was said they also used some less lethal gas or OC that got into the truck too.

I have seen some flashbangs go off in adjacent rooms during training, I am not sure I would be too happy with them going off just outside a truck door. That would still not be a fun time.

I don't even care if his arms had been surgically detached and at the cleaner's. If one is stupid enough to keep coming at cops with drawn weapons yelling for them to shoot, then one has richly earned one's Darwin Award. Just as the Tree of Freedom needs to be occasionally watered with the blood of tyrants, the gene pool needs a bit of chlorine from time to time.

The only way to make it better would be if he had been yelling that he was a sovereign citizen.
