Initial report filed at Oregon Live:

One dead, one wounded and four arrested (including the wounded). I'm glad to see that they got the head honchos of the operation. Talk about putting all of your eggs in one basket...lol!

I hope they were wearing some ribbon and a bow for their arrest because this was a gift to the FBI.

Good shoot Screw those rednecks.

A quote from that...

"Now they'll get to mooch off taxpayers in a different way."

lol!

BREAKING: “Sad Sack” Pete Santilli changes from inciting violence to sobbing like a child during tonight FBI action against #bundymilitia
— BundysBeard (@BundysBeard) January 27, 2016

ETA: Found this nugget over at LGF, not sure if true but...

So Santilli was arrested and the guys left with the vehicle and video camera are freaking out because Pete still has the key fob in his pocket and now if the turn off the engine they’re screwed.

There goes their press guy and the key fob to the news truck!

Judging from the fact that they arrested two guys who were in Burns and John Day probably sends the message to the rest of the militia members that the party is over. Try roaming around now and risk arrest.

Let's see if they get the message...

I was just coming to post that. What a blue day it is for Tarpman...

ETA: Yup, they got Santelli too...

At approximately 6:30 p.m. (PST), the FBI arrested Peter Santilli, age 50, of Cincinnati, Ohio, in Burns, Oregon. He faces the same federal felony charge as the individuals listed below. The arrest was without incident.

Initial charges:

All of the named defendants face a federal felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation, or threats, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 372.

It's unfortunate that one of the perps died, but it could have been avoided if they weren't fucking morons.
This is pretty much my thinking.

It's a pretty pointless way to throw your life away. Apparently he had a wife and eleven (seriously?! ) foster kids that he could (should) have been looking after instead.

Do you work night shift? Just curious because isn't it like 4am where you are?

The problem for Finicum and the others was their boasting that they would shoot law enforcement if they felt threatened. What in the hell did they expect when they ran into that very same law enforcement out on a stretch of lonely high desert highway? Personally I have to commend law enforcement for their restraint in a shootout. IMO, a good part of the reason for the restraint is that the OSP is not known for shooting first and asking questions later. Another part is that I bet the government wants to keep the martyrs to a minimum...

It's good PR...

Eleven foster kids? Sounds like he was living off the government. Also raises the question of should've he been allowed to take care of children in the first place!

That's some crazy shit, I thought black people didn't like the cold or camping?

Way to bring racial stereotypes into a completely non-racial situation.

Exactly the kind of book you'd expect from a blue tarp. #tarpman (aka, Lavoy Finicum) is not only living out his fantasy of stealing federal lands, he wrote the book on it! If you need tips on how to survive in an Oregon parking lot, with nothing more than a sleeping bag, a rifle, and a tarp over your head, you need look no further than the self-published ramblings of #tarpman, himself. It's a gripping tale of a citizen who believes he is exempt from laws (and so are you, as long as you agree with him, and are white!), and can single-handedly bring about a brave new world, where the only people who have the right to preserved federal lands are those who want to destroy them for profit. With the handy tips in this book, you'll learn amazing facts, like:

Which absorbent adult undergarment is best for long-term sitting in sub-freezing temperatures.

How to ball up a sleeping bag around your feet for the most effective frostbite prevention.

The right brand of blue tarp for your overnight chair sitting needs.

Wasn't aware of that, what an idiot. Too bad for the kids though, still a bad role model for the foster children.

No kids left behind, the state stepped in and took them away. Lavoy was too crazy for Arizona so that's saying something...lol! He was reported as to have been lamenting the loss of income but not a word about the kids.

Some news:

Woman on Santilli’s feed. “I talked to Blaine. Blaine said they’re going to stand their ground, they’re going to die there.” #Oregonstandoff
