Rioting in the streets is exactly the same thing as pointing a gun at government employees and threatening to murder any government employee who dares to enforce the law. If you're a delusional conservative.

Please, keep up the analysis, y'all. This is awesome.

But destroying private property is the exact same thing as not destroying private property?

You can't split a sentence in half and claim you're a genius, when the other half of his sentence contradicts your point.

This is what I said several days ago - this thread is little more than worthless sacks of flesh who deserve to be ignored ;)

Would you feel better if a sheriff's deputy shot a protester in the back 8 times? Or I'm sure that at least one of them is carrying a pocket knife, perhaps the sheriff could pick one to take on a scenic ride around the county? That tends to get the party started.

Like I stated before, the summery of this thread is:
"Some white guys are not being shot by police, and that hypocrisy makes me angry!"

There is a reason why people have been vacating these forums. Nobody cares about pissy rants.

Then why are you posting pissy rants?

If this thread is so worthless then why are you bothering to comment? Yeah...

On another topic, Bundy and the Soverign Citizens movement claim that the government can't own property, that it can only dispose of what it has by giving it to the states. I found a link to a very interesting read that lists more than a few court decisions that refute every single claim these morons are making regarding federal lands. It's quite a good read and it pretty much states that what these clowns are claiming has already been dragged through the courts more than a few times over the history of our country. The courts have sided with the federal government and spell it out very clearly. North Dakota even tried to stop the feds from buying some wetlands and sued to stop the sale. The court didn't even waste time with the case, instead stating that barring a federal statute blocking the sale, the federal government can buy that land.

The article won't shut up the crazies but it's a good read for those who intelligent enough to appreciate this kind of information.

I guess that my sarcasm went over head then. I'm not upset that "some white guys are not being shot by police." Far from it. I'm just pointing out how relatively easy it is for peaceful protesters to remain peaceful when law enforcement is acting peacefully as well.

Article IV, Section 3 of the Constitution sums it up neatly.

The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.

Bundy is using that very clause to justify his stance on federal lands. In his argument he is clearly ignoring the part I have bolded and underlined. His focus in on the rest of what is stated, that the government can only dispose of land when it's a territory (with a capital T!) and it loses that right once a state is formed.

That article I linked spells out why his argument is full of crap.

I don't credit Bundy with reading skills.

There is a whole lot of daylight between sending in the cavalry and the bunch of nothing that's being done now. These people might be laughingstock to the general public, but that doesn't matter if they are still getting enough support (or, lack of any real push back) to keep on with what they're doing. The power's still on, they're free to enter and exit, they haven't been ordered to disperse, and they're emboldened enough to flatten the tires on the sheriff's wife's car and stalk deputies. It's not deescalating, and angry-ish words from the locals and silence if not outright absence from the feds isn't going to change that.

I'm sure the feds are there, in force, if tucked out of sight. Meanwhile, the occupiers' publicity stunt is turning into a publicity flop, actually worse. Instead of confrontation, all they get is ridicule. All that's left for them is to find a way to declare victory & leave. If they can't figure that out over the next several weeks then ways to encourage that will be found, I'm sure.

Meanwhile, it's a treasure trove of intelligence for the feds because they now have cause for a variety of warrants about the participants after pinning down their identities- telephone, internet, financial, you name it. The govt can afford to be patient, choose the times, places & methods of dealing with these guys after they disperse.

No argument there...lol! I think Bundy is reciting an oral history of the Constitution, as told to him by his Grandpappy. Or maybe as told by William Potter Gale, who is believed to be the founder of Posse Comitatus.

To him it's the truth, to people who live in the real world it's something we would call a fairy tale.

The sheriff met with Bundy today and asked him if he would leave the area, a request Bundy declined until his demands were met. Rumor is the sheriff is going to go back tomorrow and tell them to leave. It will be interesting to see if they recognize the authority of the sheriff. If not then if I were him I would be on high alert because that might mean that the Bundy Boys believe that the sheriff is not performing his duties and that it's time for a hangin'!

I don't think he has the patience for this shit to last for weeks.

Harpers temporarily overcame their no-freebies policy and opened up this article, The Great Republican Land Heist, with a bit of history on cattle ranchers, Nevada, BLM and Republican politicians. It's interesting to see the conservative legislative group ALEC is involved in this (no surprise there either). These ranchers are pissed that they can't get away with the shit they have been in the past but their Republican buddies are working hard to try and correct that.

These ranchers get all kinds of government assistance via public lands but that isn't enough, now they want the welfare office so they can run it themselves.

The best part is that these right-wing, treasonous pieces of shit are basically government welfare queens pissed off that they are no longer able to shit all over their section 8 apartments and then demand new ones, along with t-bone steaks and cadillacs.

Again, it's not welfare, or socialism, that right-wing scumbags have a problem with. They'll always be OK with it as long as their tribe members are collecting it. They just get upset with welfare when others they don't identify with get benefits.

Most of these people have some relative collecting government-coerced socialist benefits of one type or another, but never seem to give granny or papaw shit that they're using federal dollars to stay indoors and eating food meant for humans. In fact, they're a-ok with it, since it means they can continue not taking care of their relative while giving $5 a week in church tithing, while bragging to strangers that it's really religious conservative people who donate to charity the most...you know...considering they just helped their megachurch pastor get a new PA system and all.

Rinse.

Repeat.

You're making assumptions that I think were pretty handily disproven after the last Bundy stand off. And if they drag this out for several weeks, do you really not think that won't embolden them further? RWNJ's in these stunts are basically teflon, and while not the sharpest tools in the shed, they're going to catch on. Maybe they can't get away with murder, but anything up to that and apparently the worst they have to worry about is shaking hands with the local sheriff.

What assumptions?

I think you're the one making assumptions. What the Yeehawdis will finally catch on to is that their bullshit changes nothing. That, or they'll finally start shooting thus turning the public against them entirely at which point the govt will have carte blanche to deal with them.

As DrDoug's article points out, they're just tools of the usual financial elite, anyway, which is where the real danger lies.

wow. Bundy is an an Epic thundercunt. The "interview" with the journalist, which is basically Bundy book-ending an ignorant tirade about his version of "the Constitution" with old-man naps reminds me of some sort of delusional despot.

There is a large whooshing sound somewhere in the lower atmosphere of the middle of the country. Local authorities have determined that locating the source of this sound is an effective way to triangulate the exact presence of cubby1223 at any given moment.

He's going to get a bunch of people killed at some point. There's no way he's going to stop pushing and his "cause" is a magnet for a load of really effed up loons.

I can see why the authorities are treading gently and it reflects well on them but they are going to have to step more firmly at some point.
