The double standard here is particularly appalling. If this were a group of legally armed muslims barricading themselves in this facility to protest the current stream of anti-muslim propaganda, I'm guessing the conversation would have a decidedly different slant to it.

Nah, not guessing, it would definitely have a more aggressive slant to it, removing them by force, or whatever means necessary. To say otherwise is either genuinely naive or willfully ignorant.

I stand by this statement. If it were a group of Black citizens or Muslim citizens, you bet your ass there'd be outcries for immediate and definitive action to remove them, by force, if needed.

Hell, it would have already been done, and the survivors on trial for some charges.

Oh after the failure to follow up on anything after the last Bundy standoff I'm sure it's not a priority. Just more white privilege.

while i do agree that if they were brown the national guard would have hit that building by now.

BUT living in a area that is not considered a town, city or incorporation you would be amazed at how slow things take to get done. I am really not surprised it would take 3 days to figure out if they want to shut power off to it. hell they been talking about closing the post office next to my house for the last 5 years. what slowing it down is what kind of mail box's to replace it.

things just move fucking slow since there is nobody in real charge.

Would a drone strike work in this instance?

These guys... if it weren't for the fact that they have firearms, I'd have to apologize for calling them terrorists...

Just vote Trump for President. He has no qualms calling for the death of "traitor" Snowden, I'm sure he'd get off on killing fellow Americans.

sure. but i think that is the wrong move.just have a operation for the military (whoever is near). They ARE terrorist. I don't even care to find out the facts of why they did it. that fact how they did is what matters.

you do not take over a federal or private office. armed or not this should be considered a act of terrorism.

well said sir!

I've wondered what would happen to a group of unarmed local citizens who would confront these morons insisting they leave. Just walk on through the idiots standing guard, and into the facility. I wonder if one of those fucktards would fire a shot on an unarmed citizen. Not soldiers, not law enforcement, just average local citizens who are fed up with this stupidity.

The armed part matters a great deal though.

It steps it from civil disobedience to borderline sedition.

Armed or not? As in squatters are terrorists?
For me, I cannot call them peaceful protesters because they are armed.
And I don't want to equate them to like what happened in San Bernardino.

Because they COULD have done something bigger, with actual violence, carnage, and massacre, but they chose a remote location with no one else involved. Just occupation of an empty log cabin. It pales in comparison to Islamic terrorism as we know it post-September 11th. Not even in the same league, and I don't think belongs in the same category.

Armed protests should be handled with care when possible. I think this situation readily qualifies. Isolate them, starve them out. Arrest them for their crimes. Don't treat them as terrorists, but be prepared to smoke them if they engage in a firefight.

Did they actually request people to mail them snacks and socks and gear?

....like, through the USPS?

I still think it'd be more fun just to shoot them.

The Vault Dweller would just shoot them. Have video games taught us nothing? ;)

If it weren't the dead ass of winter, I'd have half a mind to set up a Taunting Camp just to point and laugh at them while wafting the delicious fumes of barbecue and blasting Justin Bieber music in their direction. Set up a Go Fund Me for taunting supplies and watch those donations roll in.

I didn't know innocent people got shot in this event for not having the same religion and that this was driven by religion also.

Not every bad act has to have EEOC titles for it

Give me some power armor and a fat man and I'll go in there myself!

Hell, give me power armor and a fat man and I'll go into absolutely anywhere you ask to handle a situation. Even if I don't make it I can't imagine a more badass way to go out!

There have been airplane hijackings where innocent people didn't get killed (albeit not recently) and we had no problem using the label terrorists in those cases. /shrug

Wait is this true?

It is now! If it's on the Internet and there is a meme of it then it must be true!

Did they actually request people to mail them snacks and socks and gear?

:hmm:

It's sorta true... there were post(s?) on social media asking to send stuff. And yes, through the mail.
