LOL RELIGION

LOL MORON... ITS ARCHEAOLOGY

some people wouldnt know a fact if it smacked them right in the face.

I believe he was likely referring to the supposed contents of the ark, not its historical significance as an artifact, regardless of religion.

so the stone tablets, if found would not be a worthy archaeological find?

it must be true!!!!!!!!!

What I don't get is, if it's been there for hundreds of years, why are they just now letting on about it? Why not display it earlier? What changed? If it's been displayed in secret for hundreds of years, what significant occurrence took place to change their minds?

Did it just take them that long to design and build their own fake?

Also, look at the comments in that article

We will see! Hallelujah ! They need to return it to the rightful owners "Israel" The clamoring to rebuild the Temple will be heard all over the world. Yeshua is returning soon! Prophecy is being fulfilled daily!!

 Holy shit, people.

And that's why I don't like religion. It causes mass delusion/hysteria and makes people practice crazy things (and actually believe in it, not like fictional role play).

I meant that people believe that they were handed down from God.

i guess i'm responsibile for updating this eh? here's what i found so far

link

nothing, pretty much.

i want to know if they have a wooden box in that church since hundreds of years ago... and if it's the same one possessed by king solomon.

and i guess if this box is a WMD which doesn't always work 100%

a radio to god? some other advanced lifeform? or some historical artifact with no power.

hopefully, i don't have to buy some 2-DVD set to find out.

By the way, the Ark of the Covenant is no longer important for Christians, in terms of worship. As a historical item and former symbol, yes. For reverence and worship, no.

"Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.
It shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land," declares the LORD, "they will no longer say, 'The ark of the covenant of the LORD.' And it will not come to mind, nor will they remember it, nor will they miss it, nor will it be made again.
At that time they will call Jerusalem 'The Throne of the LORD,' and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Jerusalem, for the name of the LORD; nor will they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart. -Jeremiah 3:15-17

It never was and never should be an object of worship.

The stone tablets inside even fucking SAY so.

It *is* important for Christians because it would be the first real set of physical evidence that their phony religion is anything more than a crock of twisted historical bullshit.

If I remember right the ark is supposed to contain the tablets, some manna and a staff.

If you're secure in your religion, my statements won't affect you. If you feel an emotional response, maybe somewhere deep down you know I'm right?

Besides, I like pulling your pigtails

It's every bit significant for Christians and Jews alike. Jews reject Christ, not the Old Testament.

No emotional response here, just recognizing that your phrasing is designed to elicit one and that tends to attract the religion trolls. :p

And my hair is in a bun today, not pigtails. Are you saying I've got cute buns? :lips:

Jews don't reject Christ, they just dont believe that Jesus is the Christ and that he was just a prophet. They do believe that Christ is still to come and has not yet walked the earth.

So, like I said, they reject Christ. Thanks for agreeing with me and explaining my post to those unfamiliar with both religions.

pre-cross = jesus, post-cross = christ

Not sure about this but I don't think he's universally recognized as a prophet, if at all. His claims to be the Messiah would make him heretical, not prophetic, I would imagine.

It was my own description of the religion. The only person this is seeming to aggravate is you, dear.

And I do believe I addressed the whole "your buns" issue when I met you a couple years ago

Jews do not herald Jesus at all. They regard him as a false prophet. He did not fulfill all the requirements to qualify for "prophet" status. Jews reject Jesus in every way.

Thats a stretch. They do regard him as a religious figure, much like a prophet, but do not believe him to be heretical (well, many do not), just not the "chosen one". My sister and brother in law are Jewish and we have discussed this a lot.

I'm on the phone with a very good friend of mine in Israel. Going on a 3 hour conversation regarding religion at the moment, coincidentally. I just asked her. I don't care what you say :p Jews reject Jesus; they regard him as a false prophet.

Whatever you say, though, bro.

I'm fairly sure Jews come in more than one flavor...
