Maybe the best way to view this subject is to bring it home, literally. Pretend people from another home decided to move into your home with their kids. Do you get upset and kick them out? Do you get upset and only kick the parents out but the kids can stay (which is the worst idea ever, keep them together either way). Do you allow them all to stay and say "oh well"?

Lame analogy is lame.

2/3 have been here more than 10 years. Like it or not, they're already part of America. We swallowed 'em up. Culturally speaking, we are the Borg. They're ~10% of the population of greater LA, for example. Despite the obstacles they've made lives for themselves with jobs, homes, American & Americanized kids, bills & all the rest of it. They're not leaving & we're not throwing them all out, either. The proposition is a White Supremacist fantasy.

The population of undocumented immigrants fell & stabilized *10 years ago* so we must be doing something right- the "Mexican invasion" was over a long time ago. Get over it. So was the Whiteness of America so we probably need to get over that, too.

My comment wasn't really directed at our current topic, but more just general illegal immigration issues. I'm not against legal immigration, nor am i white supremacist, nor a conservative. I love diversity and i wish where i live now (KC) had more of it, similar to where i grew up (San Fran). Obviously there isn't much we can do about the past, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for something that works better in the future.

I'm able to talk about an issue rationally for the sake of discussion and play devils advocate when need be. And my analogy isn't lame if you are talking about illegal immigration in general. I just wasn't talking about DACA, dreamers etc, which may be my fault there.

GOP is now coming out against legal immigration too. So the whole it's about illegal immigration is just another cover story. The bad news for Trump supporters is their communities are doomed without immigrants.

I think generally speaking the GOP and Trump supporters are just fine with legal immigration from people that want to come and contribute.

Drop the "n". It is pretty hard to take the rest of the post seriously when you start with grammatical homicide.
Only for idiots, does a small spelling mistake negate the discussion. Keep on being an idiot.

'It is" should probably just be "it's", if we're going to nitpick about nothing important.

Actually, your suggestion "it's" is preferable over "it is" is incorrect as using a contraction is the choice of the writer, not an absolute.
