I'll rate this as faux outrage over a typo.

I'll also rate many of the responses in this thread as ignorant & self righteous xenophobic raving.

The oldest settlements in Colorado & other parts of the Southwest were Spanish speaking, and largely still are. They were here when nationhood shifted from Mexico to the US. Yeh, sure, English is taught in schools, but Spanish is spoken at home & on the street, with many members of the community much more fluent in Spanish than English. That's also true in many neighborhoods in larger cities.

They're Americans, too.

Mexican is not a race. Its a nationality. They have many races. But again, you are liberal so you're always right. Dont worry about your ignorance, its irrelevant.

I actually see the gripe. There have always been a lot of suspicious mistakes right around election time. If I were an American-hating liberal I'd probably be looking for blood as well.

The Democrats already lost one Presidential election because the confused Pat Buchanan for Al Gore.

They have reason to be worried.
 
As someone of Mexican heritage, I will chime in on this. My grandmother came to this country LEGALLY about 80 years ago. While she never learned to speak English fluently, she did well enough, and she made sure all 19 of his children (including my mother) learned to speak English, and speak it without an accent. She did this because it was important to her that her children were seen as Americans, and not "immigrants". You would never know my mother is a 1st generation immigrant child from listening to her speak. This is the way immigration SHOULD be handled. People should come legally, and become PART of our country, not keeping themselves separated by a language barrier, or cloistered in small communities of “your own”.

We are a nation of immigrants, we WANT the people here who are willing to go through the needed steps to become part of our country. We WANT to give them the chance to help themselves, make money and in doing so, help our country become greater. We do NOT want people who think they can force their way in illegally and then have us take care of them and their children.
 
I agree that voting forms should really only be in English. You have to learn it to become a naturalized citizen and I would hope that any natural born citizens already know it. To play devil's advocate, I guess that some natural born citizens of immigrant parents could be home schooled, thus never being forced to learn English. I think this is a very small demographic however. To apply general productivity/efficiency logic to this, I don't know that it's worth the effort to cover a <1% case. It's not like you even have to read much to register to vote. Get somebody at the voter registration place to help you if you can't understand enough English to fill out basic demographic fields.
 
Another dirty trick republicans use is when election time draws near, they drop fliers all over black neighborhoods to go vote on the wrong date.
 
Devil's Advocate: Last year the election day was the 8th. The form wasn't properly edited, or the wrong draft was printed. Simple clerical error.

They do, but this particular thread is about Republican shenanigans and they've been happening a little too often this election period. The party is getting obviously desperate to push Obama out and they've done a lot of shit in the past couple months.
There have been tons of people trashing voter registration cards as well. But only for democrat/independent.

But this is exactly what conservatives do, flock together in an altered reality buzz word language hate group to spew and stoke themselves up on contempt for other groups. They form the sickest group of alien life in the country full of utterly contemptible abnormals passing themselves off as human beings.

It is natural and easily understandable how such contemptible moral scum justify to themselves denying the vote to their fellow Americans who are far more decent than they could ever be. Worthless slime ball cheats.
